A little funny regarding photographing food

I took lots of pictures of food on this trip - some even before I took a bite. ;) (you'd think with the camera right there next to my fork that I'd remember, but most of the time I dig in, then think "oops")

Anyhow, my son kept asking me why I was doing that and I just responded that I wanted to. He didn't much like me taking pictures of his food, but he didn't complain too much. A couple of days in, however, he got into it and not only agreed to have his food photographed, but insisted on doing it himself! :rotfl:

I thought all you food p0rn photographers might appreciate that one. :)

LOL....I must say it is a bit weird taking pictures of your food with everyone watching. Last trip I tried but was so paranoid with everyone watching I didn't do it after the first day. LOL

lol...funny.

I always felt strange taking pictures of my food while on vaca. But I tell ya, I still enjoy looking at some of the wonderful meals we ate ;) My sister thought I was nuts when she was going through my camera and in between pictures of my girls at DW were pictures of steaks and desserts LOL

Now, my question to you is where are these pictures you took? lol

I've realized that at first you get teased, then everyone else in the group starts doing it if you forgot a camera. DD or DH would whip out theirs or use their phone if none of us brought one. :rotfl2:

Oh, and I've told people..."I have friends waiting on these pictures!"

I don't get embarrassed taking food pics, I figure if someone stares I won't likely run to them again ever in life. Last trip was the first time I made it a point to take food pics and it was a lot of fun. Next trip I plan on taking a portrait lens so i can get even better shots!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that's one of the beautiful parts of being a DIS'er - I am never embarrassed taking pictures of our meals! What a great way to share the experience with other people interested in eating at a particular restaurant or trying a special dish - never mind the memories that flood back of where you were when you had that meal :goodvibes

going on my next trip in November and trying 2 new restaurants: Citricos and Sanaa .....food porn adicts, watch out! :rotfl:

Last trip was the first time anyone ever said anything to me about taking pictures of the food. A man at the next table said "boy you really want to remember everything, don't you?". I just smiled and said 'you bet!'. I think it bothered DS when we first started doing it but now both he and DH wait until I snap the pic before digging in!

I'm looking forward to your pictures and your son's. :cool1:

Yeah - Someone else besides me. My DH often rolls his eyes every time I bring out the camera for meal time. Great that there are others out there that love food reviews (with pictures) as much as I do.

Me too! I like to photograph my meals at WDW. :)
I do it to remember a great presentation, but, who knows, maybe the powers that be at the restaurants will take note and be extra aware of sending out beautiful dishes! Nothing wrong with that! :smooth:

My children thought I was crazy, but then they would remind me to take pictures so that could eat the food. It became part of the fun of the trip, and now I have great pictures to remember the trip.

I must admit. On my last trip, I started taking picture on every meal and it does felt a little bit weird. Just like every one else here, my DW rolled her eyes and asked why am I taking picture of our food for. After a few meals, she got over pretty quick.

It was quite challenging since I don't like using flash. Finding the right setting can be quite difficult. Here are some of my shots. I am looking for my next trip so I can do this again.

LOL! my kids would probably use the at-home pics to press charges of "abuse" :lmao:

btw, sherabby, how the heck are you?! (do you ever visit the other boards where we "met?" i have not seen any new posts/activity there in months!) looks like you've become hooked on wdw w/another trip planned... what are your dates? we'll be there 8/23...

My son just looked over my shoulder to see the thread I was typing on and have a huge eyeroll. My family has gotten used to it, (I think). I have even started taking pictures at non Disney restaurants. I have posted them on tripadvisor.com.

On our last trip DH just went with the flow and put his hands in every photo of food.

DH did throw a bit of a fit when I took a picture of a boxed brownie. :rotfl:

Hey Nancy -

Looks like Beaches & Cream, is it? I had the Roast Beef there with peppers/onions... YUM!

Maybe your DH can get a job for Price is Right ...or one of those shows where they need HAND models... LOL!

Mary
