My DSis was taking a shower on Wednesday when she noticed she was sharing her shower with a frog! The shower quickly ended and she came to get DH, who used a towel to catch and release the little fellow. It's body was about 4 inches long, hard to tell, it was anxious to get away from us.

Some of us arrived on Saturday, and that room (a studio, dedicated, sort of at the end of the hall, dumpster view, but not bad at all) was ready when we got there. It was around 11:00AM. The rest of us were supposed to have the dedicated 2 bedroom next to her, but when I checked us into that room, it wasn't ready, and the CM asked if we would want a room just a bit down the hall on the other side. We're always happy with a room early, I was checking in at 7:30 AM, and we were definitely close enough to "get there" to see Mr. Frog.

As long as it isn't a rodent, I am willing to share my space.
Hey, Bobbi, hope you are having a grand time! We leave in 9 days and kind of sad because long range forecast shows weather turning pretty cold shortly after we arrive. Kids were counting on swimming. I guess I'll have to add a "St. Jude, need a weather miracle" candle to my routine this Saturday! ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful time!:goodvibes

Bobbi...hope you have a great trip and stay at VWL. I don't want to get this thread closed, but if that frog was older than 3 years old....well, there are those sticky occupancy rules! :rotfl2:

Bobbi
Glad to hear you guys anre on the catch and release program.:thumbsup2
Did you really get the room by 7:30am? How about the pullout beds any different news?

Have a great trip and we will be there in 22 days!:cloud9:
Thanks,
Chris

That would have totally freaked me out. I know when I stayed in a ground floor room at the Boardwalk in August, I was telling my niece not to leave the door open because of all the little lizard things.

Hi everyone! I came home a day earlier (Thursday), because DH went back to Boston to help out with the DGC at the airports on Friday, and then was only able to get back to Columbus, not Dayton, so I had to pick him up at the airport because we both had flown out of Dayton. Now, everyone is back home.

Yes, I really was able to get into the 2 bedroom dedicated early. I know I had it before I left for church that morning...maybe it was 8:30, not 7:30, but it was clean and ready for us! Part of the reason that I and my DSis had gone down on Saturday was to have a room in case the Boston group got there and the 2 bedroom wasn't ready.

Oh, those sticky occupancy rules! At least that would limit the number of critters there could be, right? DSis had that room to herself, or so we thought after the first 2 nights. What we had was a studio for Saturday through Thursday morning and a 2 bedroom from Sunday to Friday morning.

DSis and I had arrived on Saturday and a very good DF of mine (We've known each other since kindergarten, if there was a reunion, it would be a 50+ years one) came from the west coast of Florida to spent the day at Epcot, enjoying the F&W, The Village People, and then a delicous dinner at Chefs de France. We 3 shared the studio that night, and it was fine.

Both sofa beds, one in the studio and one in the 2 bedroom are the old kind, with the bars. One happy surprise for us, was that the DGD (2 1/2) did sleep in the pack and play even though she's had her own big bed at home for about a year now. She liked her own little space, go figure!

I considered our weather a 6 out of 10 for the week. We had planned to go to Blizzard Beach on Saturday, it may have been warm enough, in the 80's, but there wasn't a bit of sunshine, and during the day there were bouts of rain, and we did fine with ponchos at Epcot. We sampled food at different booths Saturday afternoon, but what I really liked was the frozen Irish Coffee...wow!

DS and DGS were on the Tomorrowland Speedway when the skies opened up on Monday, they got completely wet and chilled to the bone. The rest of us were only soaking wet. In the future, DH and I brought our ponchos, the younger family braved the rains.

We didn't get to go fishing at the ole fishing hole at Riverside, but we had a delicious breakfast at Boatwrights (I love their stuffed french toast, to share, it's quite rich) and then we went swimming there. What a great time we all had....DGC are 2, 3 and 4, with the 3 year old a daring swimmer, who loved the slide. This was Tuesday, which may have begun sunny and warm at times, but rain and clouds developed and we left the pool around noon. That was fine, there were no objections to going, at least one of the DGC didn't want to get "wet.":rotfl:

Even on Thursday, when so much of the day was bright and sunny, had bits of heavy rain. We rented a surrey bike and a regular bike, 3 adults brought DGS (3) over to FW to see the ponies, horses, and just enjoy nature. On the way home to VWL, we came upon a doe...DGS was so thrilled, we stopped and eventually the doe gracefully jumped away and that was spectacular. He liked that as much as the 4 year old enjoyed the show at the castle, which is saying a lot!

Disney had Halloween activities planned, we only did Trick or Treating at DTD both on Tuesday and Wednesday...that time was 6-9...mostly "empty" on Tuesday, crowded on Wednesday, but very doable. The Boardwalk had great activities, I think that time was 5:30 to 8:30 on Wednesday, and we did some of that too. Our kids were too young to appreciate the DJ, but in a few years, we'll stay at the BWV for Halloween.

The villa pool was closed for refurbishing, but the main pool was also closed, either for Chemical or Mechanical problems from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Really, the weather wasn't exactly condusive to swimming even when the pool was opened, it wasn't crowded.

We had maintenance in the villa, a refrigerator door holder was broken, and we fixed it with duck tape, but figured it was best fixed by the Disney people, the unit in the second bedroom leaked water on Wednesday, needed repairs, and a sink in the main bathroom leaked water out of an unusual place. With the repairs taken care of, it should be in tip top shape for the next occupants. I hope they have a wonderful time at VWL....we did!!

Sounds like a good trip over all, even if you did have to share it with a frog! LOL, we had one of those little critters hop into the front hall closet in a ground floor OKW unit once. We saw him go in there, and saw him several times over teh week, but were never able to catch him.

:rotfl:

Sorry to laugh, but if that had been me, let's just say it wouldnt have been pretty:rotfl:

Glad you had a great time with family and Mr. Frog was shown mercy.

I guess that is the wilderness for you :)

Love to hear about rooms ready and check in a breeze! Good to have options that are appealing

Jeff

Not at Disney but in a Villa in September this year i shared my shower with a
COCKROACH....:scared1: :scared1:
It was'nt a pretty sight i can tell you...

It could have been Prince Charming folks remember where you are. Now if she were single - she should have given it the old college try and just puckered up but since she has already found her Prince the catch and release program works for me. I will be there next month and I am single so with any luck, he'll need another shower by then and we'll be fine with the occupancy rules. I can't believe they haven't changed out the sofa beds yet. Didn't BCV get changed out and VWL is older right - shouldn't we have been first or at least at the same time. I stayed at SSR in 2005 on a memory foam one and it was heavenly. Well - here's hoping I find my Prince Charming :lmao:

Looks like MS might need to add some more room categories at VWL. In addition to the regular rooms, there are the famous "dumpster view" rooms and now the "frog in the shower" rooms. I can just hear the room requests now...:rotfl:

"Yes, I would like a dedicated 2 BR, master with the frog and the 2nd BR without the frog, please".:lmao: :thumbsup2

This studio did have the frog AND the dumpster view...it was very special, dedicated, so less a chance that the people next door heard a scream!
