A little depressed

I'm hearing about all these wonderful little magical moments being handed out by CMs at Disney right now. (Not just the big stuff, but little things like being declared "seaside sweetie" or something like that, and of getting to be presented at the new Happily Ever After Ball)

Are they doing anything like this for adults? Making magical moments of that level I mean. Not necessarly geared towards kids - though for me that would be nice, but just little things that can make the magic seem alive.

I'm beginning to get really depressed and think that Disney thinks I'm too old to do anything but receive the wonderful joy of drinking up at PI and footing the bill for the vacation.

fey spirit....I started thinking like you are right now...I'm a "young" 63 and go to the parks by myself all the times...DH plays golf....(good for him. :rotfl: .and better for me!) Anyhow...we leave in 10 days...and I decided that I'm going to make my own "magic moments" - but they'll be for other people. I've purchased those glow sticks and some other trinkets at the $ store..I've also made some little cards that say....things like - "you're the happiest boy on line"...and "you have such a disney smile" ... once I started getting my little package together....my thinking quickly changed...and now I'm really excited to be going!!! I also made some of those little cast member thank you cards...
I don't know if this would help you or not...but it sure did help me....I ALREADY feel the magic!!!! pixiedust: Barb

Can you tell me about these? What do you include? Do you keep them blank to write in their name?

Thanks!

this is the link that was sent to me by another Dis person...it will give you an idea of what they look like. I'm not very computer savy...so I'm just using these as an idea and going from there....using stickers and such. No - there is no place for their name...but there is for yours. Have fun! Barb

I heard of several adults receiving the special fast passes.

someone say that it is the 8th or 12th person out of their shows.

Barbara, what a totally cool idea! I'd never thought of anything quite so fun. I think it'd be a blast being the Fairy Godmother for someone else.

Of course, I guess it depends on your definition of "Magic". But I am in my 50's and have visited MK over 100 times this year. I have been invited to private meet and greet with characters, been given fast passes, given pins and more. But the best "Magic" I have been given is the friendship of many, many CM's. Hugs from them are always a special gift.

I would certainly call that magic =)
I was just afraid of being completely ignored because I'm over two feet tall, and have no two feet tall people with me =)
All the stories I hear of great things happening seem to happen to those talking about the great thing that happened to their kid... which is great, I just don't want to feel left out.

It was explained to us at work how the Dream Teams work. Two examples are that they will go to a particular location and for example, stop the 13th person passing a particular point beginning at 4:32pm or go to a location, again at a specific time, and select the person in a specific seat. These times, locations, and specific instructions are computer generated. If it is a major prize the person will be invited backstage. If the winner is a child the prize will actually be awarded to an accompanying adult.

In the event of minor prizes, especially where multiples are being given out, again the time, locations, and criteria for selection are specified to the Dream Team members in advance.

So if you are by yourself you have the same probability of selection as if you were with a rug rat.

None of our group was under 50, and a CM came over to us and gave our Birthday Gal, (80) lots of special attention, and chatted with us for the whole while we were waiting for our table at LTT. Either Barbie, the CM, or LTT provided her/us with a free birthday cake with a beautiful birthday Mickey Christmas ornament.

There's no age limit on Magic.
