A Little Creature for Mazzy

I remember a few months ago, when Mazzy inquired about "little creatures" in the woods surrounding our house. Well, I went out this morning to finish shovelling the deck and found this little fellow. I thought he was cute. He has a nest in a tree which overhangs the deck. He also provides my doxie hours of entertainment through the glass doors leading out to the deck.

Hey, Steph - I've got one of those hanging by her toenails from one of my birdfeeders right outside the study window as I write this

Are your squirrels as canny as ours? We can't fool this mama - no how. No matter how we hang our bird food, she managed to do Mission Impossible to reach it. Sometimes I think we put unusual bird feeders up as much for Lady Squirrel as for the birdies

Yes, she's a clever little squirrel. I think it's a she, as she has a nest in the tree. It's fun to sit on the couch and watch her flick her tail around and chatter. It's amazing how far she can jump. We have another one in the tree that overhangs our driveway. This one is so funny. Sometimes he'll sit and chatter at us, really loud. It's always after I've pulled the car into the drive--quite a temper.
