Today was a pretty good shopping day for me.

I started out at Pathmark here I purchased a $500 Visa gift card. It cost me $505.05 but I got $60 in catalinas to spend on my next shopping order. Or at least I was supposed to get them. I ended up spending 20 minutes at customer service having the problem straightened out and they gave me 3 $20 "raincheck" coupons to use instead of catalinas. They had better work.

Next stop was CVS where I picked up 2 Revlon emery boards and 2 Arm & Hammer spin brushes. After coupons and tax, the total was $9.76. I handed the cashier a $10 ECB and she had trouble pushing it through because it was for more than the total. After she pushed it through, I still owed 6 cents!!! How does that happen??? But I got a $6 and a $4 ECB back, so I wasn't going to argue when I was pretty much walking out of the store with free stuff.

Then I headed to Target to take advantage of the $10 GC wyb $50. I picked up a lot of things for my Angel Tree girl, including pajamas, jeans, a sweater, hat and gloves and a watch. It came to just over $53 before coupons. I had $7 in coupons for the PJs and sweater plus $50 in GCs from Mypoints. Total OOP was $0 and I still have a few dollar left on my Mypoints GC plus another $10 GC.

After that, I stopped at the Starbucks in the store and treated myself to a skinny peppermint mocha latte. I used the bonus $5 Starbucks GC that I got for buying 4 eGift cards with my Visa earlier this week.

So, with latte in hand and not quite a dime spent OOP (I'm actually $54 ahead of the game thanks to the Pathmark deal), I head over to Kohl's to pay my bill and to see if they will allow me to use my $30 in expired Kohl's cash. Of course they do! So I happily grab a bathrobe for my daughter and two packages of ankle socks, because that's what she asked for. Total should come to just about $39 before Kohl's cash. And this is where I hit a snag. There's a rule with expired Kohl's cash that they can only apply $10 per item. The two packages of socks are $7 each, so the cashier can't use the Kohl's cash on them. I have to use my 20% off "pick a day" card to save $5.80 and my Kohl's charge to pay for the balance. And I still have $20 in Kohl's cash.

Okay, so because of the Kohl's cash debacle, I have now spent $23.25 OOP. Still not bad for all the stuff that I'm hauling in my trunk and I still have $60 to spend on groceries at Pathmark.

After that, it was over to Ulta because I have a $5 off $10 or more. I picked a bath gel and lotion set for my Angel Tree girl, plus an assortment of 5 for $5 items. Total cost OOP = $8.99. I love Delaware! No sales tax!

Then over to Barnes & Noble to pick up a grandmother's brag book for a neighbor who just had their first grandchild. $10 taken off of a very old GC that has been wasting away in my wallet. Nice little Beatrix Potter cover on the album. I think she'll like it.

Hallmark is next. I need to get Christmas cards and my snowman. I get one of their animated snowmen every year. Total cost came to just under $25. I had a $5 off $20 coupon, which brought it down to just over $20.

At this point, it's raining cats and dogs. Traffic is horrendous and I don't feel like driving to another mall so that I can spend my JCPenny coupon for $10 off any $10+ purchase. It's just going to have to wait for another day. So with just over $52 spent, I took my stuff home. After tallying it all up, I have $196 worth of merchandise.

Not a bad day of shopping. So, how did your Christmas shopping go today?

Wow, that's great. Good for you!

I did zero Christmas shopping today. But I did get most of my Christmas cards done. I'm just waiting on a couple of address confirmations from people to finish up. Yay!
