This would be an interesting thread...although I will not be able to add any imput...I am getting ready for our first trip to SoCal and DL every in just about six weeks. I have not one idea about where to eat or go...the only thing I have found is that there is a BenniHannas (sp???) not sure how close but good to know if you are one for Hibachi...

Garden Grove Hotel area has (from memory)

Outback Steakhouse
Red Robbin
Joe's Crabshack
Coco's
And there is a pizza place, can't remember its name.

I have to add my vote for Coco's. Here's my "review" of it from last September:

Coco's Restaurant & Bakery - not far from the Anaheim Convention Center, at the intersection of W Katella Avenue & S Disneyland Drive. Very reasonable prices; I found them when I got tired of the convention food at the D23 Expo last week - I ate there twice for lunch and once for dinner.

They have a great breakfast menu that you can also order from any time of the day (but there are a couple items only available during breakfast hours - I think waffles, oatmeal, and one other item that I can't remember).

My favorite lunch was the Deviled Egg Salad sandwich from their specials - it has bacon and tomato and the mayo isn't too strong. It comes with a cup of soup, fries, and a small Caesar salad, although they let me skip the soup and fries and just have more Caesar salad. With a soft drink and generous tip, the total was 10.69.

As you might suspect from their name, they also have a good variety of baked items - pies, pastries, muffins, etc.

You can check out their menus at http://www.cocosbakery.com/ - they have breakfast, lunch/dinner, dessert, and kids menus.

I think the place is called the Anaheim Garden Walk.

There are a few restaurants there.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co
P.F Changs (yum, so good)
Cheesecake Factory
Johnny Rockets
California Pizza Kitchen

There are more, can't remember them. We walked there from DLR so it isn't too far
