A Line to get into DVC site

Anyone else get the new page when bringing up the DVC site?
I went to sign in and got the (balloon with luggage bag handing from it ) saying due too all the traffic you are in line to enter the DVC site, you will be directed momentarily to the site. I can't remember the exact words.

I hope this is not something new.
 

A new low as far as I’m concerned regarding g IT and how this entire site is run.

Also - how many people are THAT eager to pay their dues? We all know it will be more than last year - and if this is your first time paying yearly dues, you should have been mostly prepared for what those dues are! I’m just not understanding the fervor !

I paid mine already....I just hate having things like that lingering around. I only had to wait a couple of minutes to get on to the site.
 
Didn’t get the email. I never check on my dues until January. I don’t need that extra stress. If they gave us a discount to pay early, maybe I would. Believe me, that bill will be waiting for me in 2023.
 
Got the email and got the notice that I am in line just now. I haven't seen this before. I'm so glad I'm not trying to make a reservation!

Eta, it didn't take long for me to see that "it is your turn" button. Kind of funny and annoying.

You'd be surprised, LOL. I never bother paying mine until sometime in late January or early February. Being among the first to do some things (& not just at Disney) is not a good idea. In my experience, being first often results in "do-overs" & wasted time as the PTB work out the bugs. Of course, it helps to know which things NEED to be first - like booking BWV standard view villas. ;)

Got the same this morning. Yep, a "first" for me. :(
 
Yep1 got mine this morning as well. I think I was in line for maybe 3 minutes at best.
 
Not surprised at all. $150B company and can't even get a website to handle traffic. And that's just the start of it. Sad days for Disney.
 
If the site didn't log you out so quickly, maybe it wouldn't be as bad. Of course, if you go on to something else, and forget to check back quickly enough and your spot "in line," came up, chances are you didn't click soon enough (good for 5 minutes I think), and you had to get in line again. I did that several times today. It's annoying because I'm stalking a trip we're planning in May, and I've got it piecemeal right now, need 1 more day in the middle to have what we want, otherwise have a split stay lined up at other options. So some days I just periodically go and check availability, sometimes a few times throughout the day, some days I don't have time to check at all. The brief stint with 2-factor auth made it really annoying, now this today also did. If this is going to be a regular thing, it's going to make people have to rethink their plans for booking right at 8:00 am for those hard to get days (login early and keep refreshing every few minutes on the dashboard so as not to get logged out).

Apparently, you've been lucky enough to never run into one of the many times the Apple Store ($2.1T company) website is busy or down altogether (almost always due to heavy traffic coinciding with a new product release). Those guys in Cupertino need to find some better IT as well.

Now, all of the other IT issues...that's a different story...
 
See, I thought it could have been for folks who wanted to book for next Thanksgiving. I got the “wait in line” twice this week. I never thought it would be for looking at dues. That said, we paid 1/2 our dues this week because we had Disney gift cards and didn’t want to leave them at home when we head out for our NYE trip.
