One of my husband's friends told him that somewhere in Epcot there is a place that will etch your family in some sort of a lazer picture. It also has Mickey somewhere in it. Does anyone know where, if you need an appointment and the cost. Thank You!

It's at the end of the Figment's Imagination ride. I don't know the cost though. Sorry.

I think you are talking about the Leave a Legacy in Epcot. It is on the stone pillars that you pass as you walk into the park towards Spaceship Earth. It is $25 per picture and I think they can only get 2 people in the picture. When you enter the park go to the right of those pillars and you will see a booth where they take the pictures. We did this in October and we were able to just walk right up. They gaurantee that the pics will always be up somewhere in Disney. They have the right to move them but, they have to let you know where they have moved them too!

It was a lot of fun a couple of weeks ago to find our pictures! The kids thought it was very cool!

True, there is something similar to it there as well, except this one is those things that look like glass and the image is etched to look 3-D on the inside. Those you get to take home with you but, I think they are more expensive (not sure??)

Yes! I think that is it!

If it is the crystal that you are thinking about then it is about $50 for the person etched inside and I think $38 for the character. We did this in Dec 04 because it was our DD's first trip. She was 6 months old and we wanted a special way to show it. We also got the base to light it up. It was about $15.

I hope this helps.

We got one last trip. BEAUTIFUL! A TRUE KEEPSAKE! two versions available, one is kinda 2-d, the other full 3-d. We got the 2- d one, because for the 3-d, each person, scanned separately, must remain still for about a minute, and with a 18 mo, well...we went for the quick digital photo. Cost, not including airfare, tickets, lodging, food...$80.00, and for the 3-d, about $120.00. Not sure, but they probably also sell the light up bases there too. And yes, in addition to your image, you have a choice of several 3-d Disney images to insert as well, no extra cost, in both the 2-d and 3-d.

(Do I qualify for commission with that sales pitch?) :goodvibes

Oh, and yes, its at Imagination in EPCOT, no need to do the ride first. Also in the gift shop at Space Mountain, MK, again, no need to ride first, but I think if you get it done at MK, you still have to have it picked up at EPCOT, dont think you can have it sent to your resort room either.

Just wanted to add that you can also bring a picture from home or another park, and they will make a 2-D engraving for you. Not sure if it has to be a certain size though. Also, these engravings are etched into the center of the crystal as opposed to the outside surface like a million tiny dots carved out. They have a book of a whole bunch of 3-D figures such as the castle that they can engrave too. Of course the more elaborate, the more expensive.

You can also do it at the Arribras Bros store in DTD.

We had one done in the Mousegear shop at Epcot in August. My Mom brought a picture of my 16 year old nephew who was killed in a car accident the month before. They did a wonderful job. It was put onto this crystal like piece that was about 2"x4" and then she bought the light stand that goes under it. I don't remember the exact cost but it was priceless when we gave it to his parents. :goodvibes

We had this done on the Disney Magic (cruise) and they are among my favorite souvenirs. The images inside are 3D, and very cool! When we have company people are amazed at them! LOL Here are some pictures, wish they quality was better, but at least you can get an idea:

We paid $99 for each cube, including the base that lights up and rotates. I believe the cubes alone were around $60, the base was $39. (or something like that!). I know we paid $200 total, for both cubes and both bases.

I saw these in Epcot and thougt they were so pretty. I just didn't want to spend the money. Maybe next time.
