My Family Of 4 Adults Will Be Getting A Late Start At Mgm Thursday May 12. Our Goal Will Be To Arrive By 1 P.m. We Have Fdp At H&v For 4:30. Any Suggestions On How To Make The Most Of This Day? We Are Staying Offsite For This Segment Of The Trip.
Thanks!!!

Decide in advance which shows are "must-sees" for your group. As soon as you arrive, pick up a schedule with show times and make a plan for how you can see the most important shows. Then fill in with other rides and attractions.

For a group of adults only, I would think that you would most enjoy Lights, Motors, Action; Indiana Jones; and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Time permitting you can try to fit in the others. My husband and I love The Muppets 3D. :) We also enjoyed the One Man's Dream movie about Walt Disney. (We don't have kids so we are also an adult-only group.)

If you want to do ToT or RnR, use fast pass for these.

With the Fantasmic dinner package, you will be able to do attractions right up until Fantasmic since you are guaranteed seating which will help.

Have fun!
Susan

We always get a late start to MGM, but we don't like to sit and watch all the shows. I would say go and get schedules for the shows you would like to watch. Grab fastpasses for a ride before the show starts than go ride after the show.

You can find half day touring guides for the Disney-MGM Studios here: http://www.mgmstudios.org/guide.html

One of the trouble I have with the touring plans for 1/2 day is they split things into 2 days. If you only go one day it doesn't work. And some of the things in the touring plans we don't want to see. I ended up having to figure it out on my own. :)

here's a question - I did see a site which listed the showtimes for the current week. It looks like Who wants to be millionaire last show is usually around 6ish... are most show's times last one start during the 6 o'clock hour?

Depends on when the park closes, what time of year, and if there are any special events going on anywhere.

Park closes at 9PM. :)
No special events that day that I know of.

Maybe they will have some shows at 7.

Shows like Little Mermaid will run until as late as 8:10pm. Shows like Indiana Jones will close earlier. The car stunt show won't run too long past dusk, so once the sun sets, that one's done. Millionaire usually ends around 6pm -- it's a much more popular show in the mornings for some reason.

AllEarsNet has a half-day plan that hits the highlights of the Studios, starting around 1 pm.
