A "just the two of us" trip in December...

I think you selected a great spot for romance.....:) I would pick it over a value, even though I love POP....enjoy your trip!!
I hear they are doing campfires down on the bayou now too!!

We just stayed at POFQ in Sept. We were in building 6226 corner room second floor, king bed. It was perfect. It overlooked the river and was a short walk to everything. It was our fourth time there. We love it there.

POFQ may not be as romantic as the Wilderness Lodge or even Port Orleans Riverside. However it has to be more romantic than this

:rotfl2:

See?! That's what I was talking about. :lmao: The ambience... yeah. Not so much.

I booked for a king bed, but I didn't ask for specifics like a corner room or anything like that. I called earlier before I left for my son's field trip... that was about 11:30-something. They were experiencing an unusually high call volume. So, I'll call back in a bit.

You might try to rent some DVC points and book at Boardwalk Villas or one of the other DVC resorts. You can usually get those fairly reasonably. I rented points for a trip next month. Got 5 days at Old Key West for less than $100 a night.

Just head to the DVC board.

We too are doing a just the two of us trip. Being somewhat obsessive when planning a trip I've read every guidebook the library has and found the disboards. All the guidebooks recommended the POFQ as a wonderful romantic resort when traveling without kids. Can't wait until 11/29/07. Mickey here I come:cool1:

Okay, I called and spoke to a CM.

The code works for a standard view room on the dates I'm going on. So, if anyone's going then and doesn't mind the standard view room, there ya go!

We're keeping our ressies as they are. I asked and made sure there was a king bed and I also asked when I could start making requests (certain bldg., certain floors, rooms, etc.) and she told me about 6-7 days before our trip. Cool beans!

I can't wait to get there!!! :cloud9:

6-7 days before you arrive?? NO WAY!! Add the requests to your reservation NOW!! Did you call CRO or the resort directly? Calls to the resort actually go to a central call center, not the front desk. If you called the later, she may have meant to call that number back, but it is better to have the requests added to your reservation now :)

Remember to keep it to 3 requests in order of most important..i.e.

1. building
2. corner room
3. floor

Or whatever your prefer :)

Definitely do not listen to that CM...call the reservations number and add requests now. :)

Sounds like it is all coming together. You'll have a wonderful visit :)

I didn't call the resort directly. I called the number on the reservations page online...407-9-something. :)

Okay, I'll call the resort in the morning and make my requests.

You guys are wonderful... thank you!
