I honestly didn't know what in the world you folks were talking about when it came to Jersey Week and then the other night I read something about NJ schools letting out for the first week of Nov. We were planning on going the first week of Nov because I was figuring that it would be very slow because it was AFTER halloween and BEFORE the x-mas lights go up but NOW I read about this Jersey Week. Is this a bad time to go? Do all those yankees really affect the crowd count?

it's nothing to worry about, I've been there many times during it(and no i'm NOT from Jersey :) 15-20 waits for the headliners, got good locations for illuminations/parades etc 5 before they started, even many walk-ups for dinner...so, in short the parks are not crowded, BUT there are alot of people from new jersey visiting :)

As a former NJ resident you would think there was something wrong with us:rotfl2:But seriously it is not just NJ ..Some of the schools in NY too, but don't worry it is not bad

Just make sure the women in your party bring plenty of hairspray, and you guys will fit right in. ;)

1) They add to ithe crowd level, but not significantly.
2) Besides, with their strange accent, you can't understand them.
3) So, no worries.

We've done Jersey week, and its nothing like the summer time. And just for the record, I live in NJ and use mousse not hairspray :lmao:

Really it should read - yous guys will fit right in, just saying! :rotfl2:

Also remember majority of the Jersey Shore cast is from NY, not NJ. :thumbsup2

Thank you! Don't blame them on us!!:rotfl: We gave you Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Buzz Aldrin, Lou Costello, Sandra Dee, Danny DeVito, Michael Douglas, James Gandolfini, Shaquille O'Neal, Kelly Ripa, Martha Stewart and Frank Sinatra!:goodvibes

You're welcome~;)

Now, wouldn't it be fun to go to WDW with all of those folks??

I've gone down for Jersey Week lots of times. It's busy, but very, very tolerable!
Just watch out for all the Eagles fans...we can get kinda rowdy when they play and we're down there...don't be surpised when an Eagles chant breaks out while waiting in line... ;)

We went one year at the tail end of Jersey week and into the following week. It was fine. When we did get our picture taken with Princess Jasmine she asked where we were from. We said Jersey and she said, my, your whole kingdom was here last week! lol. :lmao:

Seriously!! 99% of them aren't even from NJ anyway! They give us a bad name and I'm tired of people from out of state asking me if I've met Snookie, if people from NJ are really like that and where's my bump. The answer is NO!

I graduated HS in 1992..Seaside Heights was ALWAYS like that at night.we used to go down there every Th-Sunday , we would cruise up and down and hang out on the boardwalk.

I know, right! I am from Jersey and moved to South Beach for a little over a year. My work friends ALWAYS made me say 'coffee', 'dog' and 'water' It was pure entertainment for them. :rotfl: Of course I found the Florida accent to be hilarious, too! We all love to hear how different words are said by people in other states/countries, I think. I never minded :goodvibes

Two things that always stood out to me while I was a server/bartender in SoBe:
1. In Jersey, you say 'Take Care' when saying goodbye. People in SoBe looked like I was threatening them when I said that:laughing: "Take care of what??" is usually what they said.

2. In Jersey, if you ask at a restaurant for them to wrap your remaining food up for you, they bring it into the kitchen, wrap it up, then bring it back to you in a bag. In Florida, they FREAK out when you do this!:confused3 They said it was unsanitary for someone to wrap their food up in the kitchen....isn't that where the food came from in the first place?? Seriously, they want you to bring them a box and bag and they just slide their food into it at the table - always seemed so lowbrow to me but it's just different in different states and totally normal there. If I tossed someone a box on their table to put leftovers in while in NJ I wouldn't get tipped, lol! :rotfl2:

Gosh, never realized it, but we do say "Take Care".

We usually go during Jersey Week. There are so many people from NJ in WDW, it's almost surprising there is anyone left back home. Anyway, the crowds are a little heavier, but no so much that I'd say the parks are really crowded. It is also worse toward the end of the week, but again, not that bad.

Also, for the record, being from the Jersey Shore, the "Jersey Shore" characters are what we'd call "Bennies" and trust me, we are thrilled when they go home come Labor Day. As a local, I promise you, we aren't keeping any hair spray companies in business. :)

Also, just want to put out there that only the public schools close during Jersey week, not the private/Catholic schools - so there are still quite a few kids that don't have off.
