Lisa sent me a note following up on a voice mail I had left her in doing a 'check up' call to her the other day. She said she has good news, and some bad news.
First, the good news. Lisa had her regular CT/Bone scans on Monday and the results were great, she said. No new bone growth and no organ tumors were detected. She is thrilled with that news.
And now, the not so great news. Lisa was diagnosed with diabetes last week. The docs believe that with all the chemo and steroids she has taken, her pancreas is simply worn out. She said her blood sugar sky rocketed to 472 last week and have just yesterday got it to 235. She has lost some weight, and would like to lose some, but not from illnesses. Lisa says she is trying so very hard to remain upbeat. She, Emily and Ellyn leave for Disney next month and she is going to have a great time, she said.
Lisa thanks us for our contiued prayers and good wishes, she knows they are helping her and hopes and asks that we continue to remember her. She misses not being on the boards all the time, but says she just needs more rest than she has been used to.
Lisa, my prayers remain with you, my best wishes continue. Have a wonderful time at the World next month. God bless.
