A Happy Pay-It-Forward Story!

It's been such a long time since I've posted (hope everyone is well, and having fun!), but I just had to share something wonderful that happened to us this afternoon. My dh, ds7, and I went for lunch at our favorite restaurant today. We were having a great time--delicious food, fun waiter, lots of laughs. When it came time to pay our bill, our waiter handed us a note which read, "It was so wonderful to see a happy family so full of love and laughter. It made our afternoon. Love, Doug and Emily." And with that, our waiter told us that they had paid our bill! Can you believe this! It was one of the kindest things anyone has ever done for us--actually taking the time to write such sweet and sincere feelings, then pay for our lunch! It was also a terrific lesson for our son. We decided to pass along the kindness, and since we now had some $$$ to burn (and that never happens!), we gave our waiter a $20 tip, and paid the lunch bill for a sweet-looking older couple who looked as though they had been together for a very long time. What a special afternoon this was, and I'm VERY grateful to "Doug and Emily" for sharing such kindness and love with us!

What a neat idea! I have used something similar when stopping to help out a stranded motorist. I have just told them to pass the favor on to someone else in need in the future.
