A Halloween wedding at Disney

Has anyone ever done this?

I have been trying to do a DFTW VR for the past couple of years and it has not been able to come together yet, but the plans are in the works for next year for definite!!

Because Halloween is my most favorite holiday and my family tends to go all out and get crazy on Halloween, and because it is a fabulous time to visit Disney I thought this could be a great idea.

There is little to no info on the internet regarding a Halloween wedding much less a Disney Halloween Wedding, so I am trying to find out if anyone out there has done a halloween wedding at Disney and could offer me some thoughts and advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

Carrie - thanks so much for these links! Because of timing, we are planning a Halloween theme for our at-home reception. Our little mermaid Disney wedding just didn't seem to fit a catering hall in October, so we scheduled it the week before Halloween so that Parents could still talk their kiddies out trick or treating on the actual day of Halloween.

You just gave me plans for my entire lunch period today, lol!

Thanks Lurkyloo for all the links, I typed "halloween wedding" into the search here on the dis and found nothing, I have never been able to get the search function to work on here.

There is a lot of great info in the threads you linked. I haven't yet decided if I want to do a theme or just do a traditional halloween.

Yeah, the DIS search function is pretty terrible.

The secret is to type the terms into Google, followed by the phrase site:disboards.com - when somebody taught me that trick, a whole new world opened up for me!

I'm having a halloween wedding this year in DL, but I can't let you know how things went yet...Sorry!

We are considering having it be costume optional, but thats TBD... Due to all the costume restrictions at Disney Land it may prove to be hard. We are aiming for an Addams family halloween with reds and blacks rather than a orange and black pumpkin theme.

I have been thinking this over for a while and I am thinking that I would like to have a Haunted Mansion themed Vow Renewal. I really can't afford to actually have it at the Haunted Mansion but I would like to incorporate it into the ceremony, decor and cake as much as possible. I would love to see if Disney could do a Mad Hatter cake based on the Haunted Mansion wallpaper.

Maybe they could come up with something great based on a few things HM related. In the mean time I will be brainstorming.

My DD and DSIL had a DFTW on Halloween. They too regard Halloween as a favorite holiday. The actual ceremony did not have a Halloween theme but the recessional music was the music from the Haunted Mansion. My DD requested that with her planner ahead of time so the violinist was prepared.
The ceremony was at noon, reception afterward, some rest and then the entire wedding party and guests went to MNSSHP compliments of the bride and groom. It was a fun day!
