A Halloween Photo Trip Report

wow - your photos are amazing. You have such a fantastic concept of balance - not only shot composure but also light/dark balance!

This is Frances Fermata, Matchmaker of Main Street USA! "I find em'-YOU fix'em!!!"

She knows* the daughter of a couple we had at our dinner table on our cruise a couple of weeks ago (after our Disney trip). Their daughter has been with Disney all over the world! Amazing and very cool that you ran into her and got a picture! I am very jealous of her experience.

Also, this trip report is just great!!!!! :wizard:. Your description of your Dad's interaction with that cast member outside Columbia Harbor House was hillarious! :rotfl: My wife was LOL  at that!

And... Your pictures are, once again, first rate. :worship: I am doing some processing on mine now in LightRoom. :tink: I am getting happier with the results.

Keep up the great work. Maybe someday we can all get together at WDW! :thumbsup2

*Disney face-characters are only acquainted with the real-life people that play them ;)

Very interesting, thanks! I love the citizens of Main Street.
Are you going to write a trip report? I look forward to seeing your pictures once you've played around with them. I really struggled with this set. I'm not sure if it's just becoming harder to find a unique angle, or if I was thrown off by all the people involved (never getting alone time doesn't help), or if my standards have changed, or if I just wasn't in the zone this time but it was a struggle. It also took me a month to process the pictures! I'm hoping I come up with something good when I go next week- the Christmas decorations will probably help.

You are your own worst critic! I was thinking how this set was even better than your previous trip! I'm sure the next trip will show even better improvement (if that is even possible :rolleyes1)

I'm thinking about a TR, but fussing with the pics is taking me a lot of time. :wizard: I'm just learning this 'processing' stuff.

Have a wonderful time next week! :cool2:

You're pictures are amazing! I am jealous. My pictures wish they could be that good:worship:

Please tell what kind of camera you are using. I currently have a Canon Powershot but it is driving me nuts.

Great trip report, and once again, incredible pictures. Love the parade shots! The colors in the Hallowishes fireworks photos are amazing!

It was also fun to read about your interaction with your trip-mates. Hooray that Brian had such a great time at Disney!

So, what is next up in the Year of the Annual Pass series? Will we see any holdiay decoration pictures?

Great trip report and photos. I love the pics from POP. That's our favorite resort! Even though we could stay at other resorts, we always seem to come back there. Just seeing your fabulous shots makes me want to leave today! Alas, we are a year away from returning.:sad1: Thank you for posting a fantastic trip report.

The processing stuff is not easy- not something that just comes overnight. I still have so much to learn. I've read at least a dozen photoshop books and I'd say that every 3-4 months, I learn a new skill/tool in photoshop. Lately, my new skills have un-streamlined my workflow so I think that's part of my struggle- I've become less efficient and more picky, leading to very slow processing. Did you shoot in RAW?

I have a Canon 50d, which is a mid range digital SLR. The equipment definitely makes things a little easier but it is definitely possible to get great shots with a point and shoot. I'd recommend getting a point and shoot with some manual controls and then slowly learning the basics of photography. A good book to start out with is "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. Then, just take a lot of pictures and start to think more about composition. Start to move beyond just taking a quick snapshot and really focus on what story/emotion/etc you are trying to convey with the image. Good luck!

Hallowishes was awesome! I thought it was much more dynamic and interesting than Wishes. I'm really glad we watched it one night from the TTC so I got to see it twice. I actually watched it on YouTube multiple times before leaving so I would have a sense of timing and what shots I wanted to get (I know, that's a little obsessive).

And yes, there will be a holiday report! You wouldn't know it, because every time I get close to a trip, my ticker goes on the fritz, but I leave in 7 days!

Thanks! I really like POP. This may sound silly but, in addition to it being a really good value, I find the hours of the dining area really good and I like the beverage selection. Coronado didn't have an diet decaf sodas, it was hard to find cream for the coffee, and they didn't have hot chocolate! That was a deal breaker for me! Anyway, I can't wait to see your pictures next year- I'm sure you'll get some great ones as well!

I have my fingers crossed that I will get a new camera for Christmas, but I really want to be able to take some amazing pictures at some point...the camera we have now I am lucky if it works!!

I am so sad we skipped Muppets this year after seeing your pictures!! I want to go back and do that, along with Beauty and the Beast show which we skipped as well :sad2:

We've skipped Beauty and the Beast the last several trips. And Little Mermaid. We actually don't seem to do very much at DHS, just the same things over and over. I would be a very happy person if I never see LMA again!
