Good evening Kathy! Sorry for not commenting on your past posts....i have had summer homework and have been pretty tied up. Happy you guys had fun at the shore! Hope Ed finds the right costume for him!
I too am having trouble with costume desisions....im stuck between Alice or Audrey Hepburn..popcorn::
Have a magical week!

65 days!!:yay:

Hi Kathy! I'm slowly but surely catching up on all my DISfriend's reports. I'm all caught up here...finally!

Sorry to hear about Ed's costume..it's a good thing you had the good sense to try it on! That could have been disastrous! :scared1:

I'm glad you had a good time at the shore. I remember going to the Jersey shore when I lived in York, PA. We usually went to Wildwood. Good times!

Hi Kathy,
I have been lurking for a while now. I grew up on Long Island even though now I live in NC. I get the "down the shore" name for going to the beach. I enjoy your reports and can't wait for more.

I know with school starting soon for your kids it is busy right now but I thought I would tell you how much I look forward to your updates and how "real " you keep it.

Good luck with finding just the right costume for MNSSHP.
Pat

Hello and :welcome:

I love when DISers "come out of lurkdom" to say hello! :goodvibes

Yes, it has been busy since we got back... I'm working extra to cover another nurse who's on her vacation this week and we're preparing for a Labor Day Weekend visit from my stepson, Eddie (19). He's already back at college, but since he worked all summer (in North Carolina) he didn't get a chance to visit this summer. :sad1:

Oh well, when they reach that age you just have to take what you can get!

(For those of you who may remember, Eddie came for part of our trip in 2006)

Oh my goodness! Don't Tricia and Billy look so little?? :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Hi Kathy!! All caught up over here now too. :faint:

Love your new camera. :thumbsup2 You couldn't have gone wrong if Tricia got a camera out of the deal. ;)

Sorry the costumes are slow to come together... but what else do you have to do now that ADRs have been made, right?

Seriously! I feel like I'm in trip-planning limbo again until its time to start packing!

How did this end up on Page 3..bumping back up

Yes - that was wrong in so many ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys are so sweet!! :flower3:

Hey Princess K!

Audrey Hepburn... I'm assuming you'd go with the Holly Golitely (sp?) / Breakfast at Tiffany's look with the black sheath and pearls?? Fabulous!!

Thanks... I'm glad we went before Hurricane Bill stirred up all that rough surf... it was really wild down there! I don't think the kids would've been able to swim at all.

Sometimes, you just luck out with the right weekend.

Kathy

Looks like you finally hit it with the pirate pants! Great!

Yes, you did luck out with Bill!! No way would I have let my kiddos out in what I saw on the news from here!

Maybe working extra shifts will help east the pain of the cost of the trip :thumbsup2

Ok-I'm all caught up with your PTR...:cool1:

I didn't know that "down the shore" was a regional thing...that's what we call it here outside "Philly" too-"down the shore..."I hope you had fun...did you have any Johnson's carmel corn or Kohr's custard or saltwater taffy or were you a good girl and stayed true to your diet-Congrats btw on your weight lose...that's awesome...

I home your costume situation works out -but it sounds like you are pretty well on your well...the description/titles of the preteen/teen pirate girl costumes for Tricia had me howling because it hits close to home-we've looked for costumes for Emily and I have to agree especially now that she's 14-they do/look sound like "adult" fantasy themed clothing for the boudoir-things like Pirate vixen and Sassy Lassy -they should come with appropriate R/NC17 ratings...:lmao:

I'm so glad for you that you got all the ADRs that you wanted-and your plans look great-how nice to have a day to relax after the Halloween party...I hope that Fantasmic works out for you...(those are 2 of the things that Emily wants to do for her 16th "surprise" B-day trip-the Halloween Party and Fantasmic...

I'm going to have to go back and read one of your earlier trip reports that feature Aunt Rae-I haven't "met" her in these reports...but she certainly seems to have made an impression on everyone who has...:goodvibes

BTW-we went on the "new" Hall of Presidents and thought it was well done but then again I was never in there before and DH only remembers it vaguely from his childhood...David was fascinated and we got him the Presidents Fandex but we had to wait till Epcot because they didn't have them in the gift shop-which is kind of weird if you think of it...I thought it was a very stirring show...

Hi Triple P... and welcome back!! :goodvibes

I was a naughty girl and ate a lot of "junk" while I was away... took a little vacation from the diet as well. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time getting back on the wagon, so perhaps I should try on my harem pants again for an incentive!

I ordered a bodice online many weeks ago and they had originally said it would be backordered to the middle of August. Now they've sent word that it will not be available until the middle of October and I'm a little nervous.

I was really happy with it, but I may cancel the order and plan on ordering something similar. I wouldn't want to find out at the last minute that it isn't going to get to me in time for Halloween.

I'm really not much of a gambler at all!!

I'm also waiting on two "pirate shirts" that I found on sale... pretty much two for the price of one... for Ed and Billy. They should arrive this week.

I will be so happy when everyone's ensemble is in hand!!

Thanks for reading!

Kathy

that 2006 picture is too cute, i wasnt here for that tr but i cant believe how grown up your kids look in such a short time. wow.
as far as the corset, i would order another but not cancel the 1st that way i could just play it by ear. good news on the sale shirts

Hey Kathy!

It really is hard to get back on track with dieting after a vacation. But, I know you can do it! :thumbsup2

Continued good luck with the costume search! :goodvibes

Wow, the kids do look young in that pic.

I agree with Kim, keep the bodice on order but line up something else in the interim just in case. I'm not a good gambler either. Much prefer to have everything in hand early.

Hope the pirate shirts fit the boys, that would be a major score!

Hi Kathy,

understand about not wanting to risk the bodice not arriving in time...could you keep it on order JIC and order something else as back up and then return the other item after the fact...or is a return only by 10-31 thing :confused3

good luck on returning back to your "diet"

Scrappie

Unless you're holding at least "a pair", using gambler speak, you'd better order another. You can always return one or the other. I'd hate for you to be caught in a lurch without one at all.

I looked at your weight loss ticker about 3 days ago; you are doing so great, but I know how time away from our routine can mess things up. Keep at it, you've come so far!!!

:cheer2:

Hi Kathy! Hmmmm, mid October? That is definatlely cutting it close. I'll pipe in like the others have said and say to stick with the order but have something on standby. Hopefully you'd have no issues returning one of the two.

Good luck getting back on the diet wagon! :goodvibes

sending some pixie dust and good thoughts your way that all your costume pieces arrive soon

Yeah - mid-October would be cutting it really close! I would look too.

I think we're definitely all on the same wavelength as far as the backordered bodice is concerned. Luckily, its not an actual "Halloween" item, so I'm sure that I would have no problem returning /cancelling it if it does not arrive by 10/30.

The only annoyance is that I will now have to shell out more $$ to order something else, but it is definitely true what they say about having the bird in hand. ::yes::

Thanks, guys!

I admit that I've been too frightened to get on the scale :scared1: Perhaps I should... it may be just the kick I need!

It's so great to have your support!

Kathy

Wow - I'm so out of the loop with all my DIS-ing I've been missing! I'm all caught up and anxiously awaiting more costume details! Sorry about Ed's costume being a no-go! What a bummer! Glad you are having a nice summer! :goodvibes
