A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/12) New Thread Begun on TR Board!

Ahhhh......that explains the difference in picture quality from your April trip....I was noticing that some of the pictures seemed foggy. And you really do need pictures to remember the trip in detail. Now do you have enough memory cards??? :rotfl2:

I agree... I noticed a big difference, too.
My memory gets fuzzy enough on it's own! ;)

Nice camera! We need a new camera too - but if we don't get one before the trip, we'll take my Mom's.

That's an idea!
I would be nervous taking someone else's camera, though. You can see that I already killed one.... dropped in on the sidewalk and that was that! :sad2:

It's not that I'm not looking forward to your pictures, but I'm really curious to see Tricia's pictures.

 Me too!!

(Welcome Home!)

Wow-I'm behind but slowly catching up-just read up through page 48 and all about your trip to see Little Mermaid for Mother's Day!!!:cool1:

Sounded just fabulous-I wasn't so sure about LM-but after reading your report of it I'd love to see it-the songs from the Little Mermaid are fabulous...did they write any new ones for the shoe-(we've seen Mary Poppins and they did for that-which was also amazing)

I love how you bought the soundtrack ahead-I do that with David too-he adores music also...It seems like a lot of kids all over the spectrum are either very good at music-perfect pitch, etc. or at least find it soothing/relaxing/comforting.) -You got some really nice pictures of Billy from that day...:goodvibes...

You are right-it is SOO Expensive to see a Broadway show-its a shame because its become so cost prohibitive and it can be really rough to take a family and yet I think its such a great experience for a kid...

so maybe they'll run another special next year if not for 15th year-maybe something else...

(I think I remember something from my Passporter newsletter-that they were running some kind of special---hmmm-just don't remember exactly what...

oh btw-we saw the Radio City Christmas Show last year-I wasn't sure at first-it was expensive, it thought it would be really corny, etc... But I loved it-it was fabulous-it reminded me of something from a totally different time-like the 30s-it was a little corny but soooo good and so much fun...

I'll be continuing to read...:surfweb:

Hi! You're a dedicated reader to be slogging through this giant report!

Billy's school Parent-Student Association ran the trip to Radio City for the Christmas Spectacular. They got discounted tickets and a chartered bus, which sealed the deal for us because Ed hates driving in the city! I agree, it was a great show!! :goodvibes We even bought the DVD, which Billy watches a lot... in fact, he was watching it last week!!

Ed doesn't seem to mind that his son likes to watch the Rockettes!! :lmao:

Unfortunately, The Little Mermaid is closing on Broadway very soon... I believe it is going "on the road" after that. I'm so glad that we were able to take advantage of the anniversary special... it had been ages since I'd seen a Broadway show and this was our kids' first time!

There's nothing like a live performance!

I think your logic is right on and I'll tell Ed so, if he ever asks me.:rolleyes1 Make sure you take lots of practice pictures and post some here for us to see, please.:flower3:

My Mom and I saw the traveling version of the Rockette's Christmas show last year and it was wonderful! I bought the DVD and Maddie just loves it. Her favorite is when they are the wooden soldiers.

Oh - and taking my Mom's camera makes me nervous too - that's why I'm hoping to get a new one before we go.

Nice camera--- just one question..

It IS very red; just how long do you think you can keep it a secret from Ed?? Were you going to tell him before you got there??

That's my favorite part, too! What a classic!

It would be one less thing to worry about, for sure!

 Yes, of course! He won't really mind; I think I'm just projecting my own guilt onto him. Besides, he wants to look good in future reports, doesn't he??

Love the new camera and I can't wait to see the pictures you will be taking with it!!! :goodvibes

Thanks! Especially at Kidani/AKL!!

Love the new camera!

You're making me want a new camera too!

Well, you'll soon have the best little reason in the world to want to take pictures! :goodvibes

Kathy

First, congrats on the additional weight loss! :thumbsup2

Score on the new camera! I love the color. I hope you like it just as much as you did your previous one.

When the kids were small, we used to go to a park with early EMHs in the morning, go back to the resort to nap after lunch, then head out to a different park in the evening (because the morning EMH park would be crowded by 10am!) That strategy worked well with little ones! :thumbsup2

This is kinda what I'm thinking too...mix it up a little. I haven't had time yet to review the schedule again/crowd levels/etc to form a new plan, but we'll see! :goodvibes

Thanks! :)

I've always had cameras that were black or silver... I thought red would be fun... and easier to find in my bag!!

Oh, we're always tweaking plans... that's the fun part, right? :goodvibes
We like to have park hoppers because we feel it gives us flexibility in case... after all that planning... we do decide to change direction at the last minute!

Very nice! Congrats on the new camera---can't wait to see the pics in your TR, I'm sure it'll be $200 very well spent. One tip for keeping the lens of the camera de-fogged when moving from your hotel room out to the warm humid Florida weather would be to keep it in a ziploc baggie when you leave your room first thing in the morning. That will allow your camera to get adjusted to the outside temperature without being exposed to the moisture in the air---which should keep your lens from fogging! :thumbsup2

Oooh, a new camera!! I have a red one too and LOVE it. Mine is a Sony though as DH works for Sony. He got it for me last Christmas since mine started to act up on our Oct 08 trip. Can't wait to see your pics!

Another use for the all-purpose-all-wonderful ziploc bags!! :thumbsup2
