A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/12) New Thread Begun on TR Board!

Kathy, You Look Great! Props to Tricia for the great picture! :thumbsup2

The staircase behind you is gorgeous (part of the rehab?)!

The bag? Looks like you're carrying a small baby elephant! :scared1:

Are you smuggling Dumbo into the parks with you??? :dumbo:

Oh Sweetie, do you think it might be a touch big? Your Baggallini wasn't that big, was it?

I have to say...I love the bag but wow, that's a lot to haul around now that I see it in the picture! It would be headed to the locker for sure (for me). LOL!

Well... I'll have to agree with you, it is a lot of stuff. As we get closer to the trip, I'll figure a way to streamline and then you'll be proud of me!

Me too!:thumbsup2 Kathy, that bag looks marvelous. How do the shoulder straps feel? Are they sufficiently padded?

You know, that's the one thing that I'm a bit concerned about. The baggallini had a nice padded strap and this bag doesn't. I read several on-line reviews and the reviewers all talked about how comfortable the bag was and how it distributes weight well.

Again, I haven't removed the tags yet... so I'm still thinking about it.

:rotfl: Seems like everything BUT Dumbo, huh?!

It is a bit big... definitely bigger than the Baggallini messenger. I really may have to stop by that Bag Thread and check out the popular bags....

Then again, this would make a nice carry-on bag for the plane. :scratchin

I was so afraid I hurt your feelings with that post! It wasn't my intention at all - it was just much bigger than I expected...

:flower3:

Don't be silly! We're all "family" here! :grouphug:

It is perhaps too big... I'm still thinking about it.

Did you say you got the Baggallini? I forgot!

Kathy

It looks a mite unweildy to me (it terms of stuffing it in a netting ride pocket), but when I have I ever said getting a new bag was a bad idea. :lmao::lmao:

Did you say you got the Baggallini? I forgot!

Yes, but I got this style: http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/urb...&lastterm=Urban Backpack Bagg - Crinkle Nylon

(We didn't pay nearly that much for it! I chose a discontinued fabric - and DH ordered it with some type of coupon - so it was like $25)...

Anyway - I love the bag - I use it as a purse, now. It just wasn't that convenient for Disney, because every time I wanted to get something out - I had to take it off.

I want something that goes over my shoulder (like the Baggallini Messenger that you had or a Vera Bradley Hipster) for my next trip - so I can just swing it around if I need to access the bag.

On our last trip, I also had a HUGE duffel bag with extra clothes (and who can even remember what else, but the thing was stuffed, LOL) - but it stayed with the double stroller (that we rented).

This trip, now that the kids are older, I'm going to try to downsize my pack mule tendencies... I tend to over pack... Heck, one of the appeals of driving to me is packing everything into the van that we could ever possibly need :scared1:

So, I'm going to try to go with a small bag, and only bring true essentials into the parks each day??? We'll see... October hours aren't posted yet (as you know), so if the parks are closing early every day - we might not do the afternoon break, and then we'll need more "stuff"...

I need to join "overplanners anonymous" :rolleyes1:eek::lmao:

Hi Kathy!

Just popping in to see how your plans are going. I ordered a Baggallini for our trip and I love it. I am also looking at getting the Vera Bradley hip wallet thing, have you seen it? It wont hold much but it's great for your money and tickets and fits like a fanny pack but looks way better. :rotfl2: I think it's 28.00.

That was my thing, too... I didn't like the backpack style for the same reason: it was "on again, off again" all day long!

Even the cross-the-body bags need to come off every time you go on a ride. And for me, that meant first taking my pin lanyard off, then taking the bag off. (But, it did give convenient access when I was wearing it.)

That's why I want a shoulder-bag style this time.

Hmm. I think the perfect park bag search is still ON!!

Kathy

Definitely a great carry on! :)

Yup. I think you're right... it's prolly too big for daily park use...

That baggallini is so popular... if only it came with an adjustable strap!!

The Vera Bradleys are so cute... but too small for my needs.

And besides, my fanny doesn't need any more packing! ;)

Kathy

Oh Bummer, I didn't realize that. I was thinking I could just leave it on... Hmmmm....

Well, I suppose you could... but it depends.

If you don't overpack it (like I do!) you can turn it around and set it on your lap for most rides. But depending on whether a restraint is needed, the bag does have to come off sometimes!

My main issue really is my heavily decorated pin lanyard... which I am not giving up!!!

Kathy

:magnify: The Bag Hunt Continues...

Well, I've been going back and forth, back and forth about the Carmel bag.

On the one hand, it certainly does hold a lot. :thumbsup2

On the other hand, as Hedy suggested,it may not fit well into the netted bag pockets or under the seats at most of the rides. :headache:

On the one hand, hangs well from the shoulder. :thumbsup2

On the other hand, given how much stuff I'm tempted to cram in there, it will most likely get too heavy. And as Christine (cjackearl) pointed out, the shoulder strap is not padded. That may get a bit uncomfortable.

The general concensus from most of you is that the bag is too big. Thanks for the input... it really helped me decide.

Jordan, you were no help at all.

;)

I may still wind up keeping the bag, but use it for other things. It was a good buy at 43% off (because of the discontinued color.)

So, the hunt for the perfect park bag is still ON!!

Ed tells me he cannot believe that we're having such a long discussion about a bag. Then he added, "You didn't ask me if I wanted a new bag!"

Oh no.

Do I have to find TWO perfect bags, now??

Forget the TAG Fairy, what I need is a BAG Fairy!!! pixiedust:

Kathy

Kathy-what about a string backpack/backsack? it'd be out of your lanyard's way, but comfortable.

Sorry about the bag issues. We leave in 12 days and I have no clue what bag I am going to use- if that makes you feel better!
