Can I just vent a little?
I have been trying and trying and trying..(and trying!) to earn the fireworks pin. It is Sooo frustrating that I have actually cried. I'm 33 years old, and a little online game has made me cry. :sad2: My highest scores for Fireworks have been in the 220,000 range.
I know what I'm doing wrong..it's waiting that 1/millionth of a second to try to get 'Flawless'..I end up missing so many by doing that.

My mouse is not the greatest either! :(

I had a great streak one day, where I actually won 1st place many times in a row, but without enough points for it to be worth anything. :(

I've said a few times recently that I'm about to give up and just trade for the Fireworks pin..but it's something I'd really like to be able to earn myself.. boohoo

If only I could!!

Vent/pityparty over.

Awww MommyKate. I'm so sorry. Fireworks is tough and does have a lot to do with your computer. I can't win on my desktop but can on my laptop. I know how you feel. I wanted to WIN fireworks...not just trade for it.

Lol, I feel your pain. Take comfort you are so much better than I am. I can't get past level 2 anymore. I have never scored even close to 200,000. So, compared to me you are a star!
I'll never earn that fireworks pin, but you still might. Hang in there!

- comfort -

I also think you're playing great, lol. The last time I played, months ago, my high score was only in the 186,000 range, so I can only dream of what you can do.

Just think that you have a WAY better way to earn credits than my NPC visits, and the occasional pathetic "Ned"-ing. So you can go on shopping sprees that I'll never get to!

I know the feeling, i can't top 180,000!

i gave up long ago, my computer has bad lag...old.

Hi BrittNTylersMom, I attempted to personal message you but your mailbox is completely full...Clean It Out! :) The first question that comes to my mind is why are you attempting to hit all flawless playing the fireworks game? Your risking missing the firework all together and getting absolutely no points instead of some points. My suggestion for anyone is try bursting as many fireworks as you possibly can, do not try for perfection. There are roughly 315 fireworks throughout game and if you received minimum points for awesome 800 your total score would be 252,000. I would guess you would not always get the minimum points so more than likely your score would be higher. Anyone who has asked me for assistance playing fireworks I have always said make every attempt to burst as many fireworks as possible, even if this means getting ok/good because you learn over time where these fireworks will be. You should only attempt flawless throughout game if you can receive awesome/good/ok throughout the entire game. Take fireworks more in stages instead of trying for the highest possible score. You have played quite a bit so I am pretty sure you know which fireworks are coming. Take one stage/one scene at a time, and build off of that...Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out...

:grouphug: to you. I was the same way! I was mad at my comnputer and i was almost going to hit it then i notice, of course it was the computer! i can't play fireworks on my laptop but i can on my desktop. No clue why? :confused3 Don't worry one day you will get it! it just takes time and practice. When i play fireworks i always have disney music in the background instead of the fireworks music. Usually the disneyland 50th firework music, because it make me happy and i think happy thoughts and i do well at the game. So relax! It will soon come!! :sunny:

:grouphug: You are on the right path. There was a time when I always got in the 220's, and was getting very frustrated! I had hit a lull. Many people gave me advice. WDWTigger had a lot of strategic tips which helped A LOT, and the best advice anyone gave me was to HANG IN THERE. KEEP PLAYING. I now get in the 240's almost every time I play, and I find that I play much better on dh's computer (faster and better mouse). Anyway, sending lots of pixie dust your way.. :wizard: Hang in there!

Possibily it's the size of the mouse you are using? I have better luck with bigger mouses, it gives me more percise movements.

If all else fails just PRACTICE! practice makes perfect! (or in this case, awesome) lol

I use my touch mouse on my laptop and can get about a score of 215,000 or so. The 4 or so times I've been on my college computer(aka, hand mouse) I have had scores around 230,000.

So yes, computer and mouse can make a huge difference!

How are you all getting 220G scores when I can only make it up to the second stage?

Allow me to answer my own question: My arrow keys don't always correspond with the input from the game, and sometimes the transistion is not as smooth when firework designs jump.

Fireworks is a bad game. :P

It's all a memory thing in my opinion.
My laptop is 3.2GHz and 512 MB Ram(-8 for video...so 504) and my college is 3.1GHz and 1024 MB Ram, if that gives you any idea.

Love the processor speed at my college! I plugged my laptop into their T-Cable once and couldn't beleieve what a unloaded computer(my laptop) could do with that kind of speed!

I have the exact same problem. Sometimes I hit the arrows so hard thinking it will change (ha ha) that my fingers hurt! :badpc:

Like WDWTigger72 said, keep practicing. Work on getting as many fireworks bursted as possible, and don't necessarily worry about getting Flawless yet. Once you're able to burst as many fireworks as humanly possible, then work on getting as many Flawless as you can. Pretty soon you'll have the timing down for each type of firework and you'll be set if you remember to try not to miss any. I've found that I can go through an entire game only missing 1 to 3 fireworks. I was better at the game before they added the stars, if that means anything. It took me some time to get the fireworks pin, and I actually had to throw the game in the final stage so I could get 2nd place. Over the past few weeks, I've been consistently getting around 270,000 points, and I know that with a little more practice I'll be around 280,000 soon. I'm always coming up just short of the High Scores board. :sad2:

If you are using a wireless mouse try to get even an inexpensive wired one. I changed and my score went up dramatically.

Also, those who have "plateaued" that is very normal in a game like this. You will hover around your own "levels" for a week or more and then, lo and behold, you jump to the next level.

If the music distracts you turn it off. I find that it is not in synch with the fireworks so you need to set them off a half to full beat behind the music cue, not with it.

I'm in the same boat! Although I am a couple of years older than you, I get just as frustrated. LOL!

My highest score was above 230,000. But I can only consistently score in the 220's, as well! I had made a trade of a couple of pieces of Quest furniture for a fireworks pin. :)

I'll keep trying and perhaps run over to my sister's DSL and new computer one of these days. Maybe that'll make the difference vs. my dial up connection!

Hang in there!
