A great idea... if youre having a heat wave

From MrsP over at YDF, why not do something really nice for someone?

If youre home when your mail comes why not a run a cold bottle of water out to your mailman?
I cant even imagine being out in the heat they have to endure!

Also keep in mind the service workers and anyone else who may be stuck out in the heat.


Anyway, just a nice idea I thought

That's a good idea. We always have gatorade and water whenever we have workmen doing something at the house but I never really thought about the mailman. Our heat spell s/b over later today which is a good thing since our AC won't be fixed until next Thursday

That is a nice idea. I'll put a bottle of water in the fridge now for when the mail gal comes later on-- hopefully I won't miss her.

I just did this and let me tell you, I have rarely seen a man be so grateful!

I handed him a cold bottle of water and he looked shocked and said " OMG you are an ANGEL THANK YOU!!"




Made me feel really good too!

Another happy mailman here. He came pretty early today so the water wasn't as cold as I would have liked, but he seemed thrilled. He opened it right away and said he'd just been thinking "where can I get a a bottle of water?"

BIL is a mail carrier in the city. He said a woman gave him 2 bottles yesterday, one with cold water, and one frozen solid for later, and a little foil bag to keep them in so they would not 'condense' all over the mail. And at another house, a lady and her toddler gave him a popsicle. He said they were two of the best treats he has ever had. (we're in our first hot spell here in MASS).
