Oh, that's right!! Just for the day...I know I'll be missed here. ;)

Okay, come on...rates where??? Let us help, let us help!!

And yep, we wanna hear about the flights...you betcha..thing you can leave us hangin like that??? Talk about a pickle....

Oh, and since food was mentioned.... I'd like homemade Toll House (lite on the chips, please) and Oatmeal Raisin cookies for sitckin through this with you...popcorn::

Anyone else want to put in an order? :rolleyes1

Yes, you will be missed! I always miss my friends in the computer.

I'm actually looking at the Swan and Dolphin, but holy hannah they are $$$$$. :scared1: Woo wee. I might as well book the Poly now...

Yum. Oatmeal raisin. That is my fav cookie of all time, besides Dad's oatmeal. But I'm not allowed to have them in the house. :sad2: Nobody likes em but me and well, if I do have them here, I'll snork the whole bag!

I've crunched the numbers and the dining plan isn't worth it to us. We truly don't eat that much in the summer and I can't see us blowing through $60 of meals per day. So, the dining plan is outta here!

I think... :rotfl:

That's too bad about the Swan/Dolphin - sometimes the discounts are terrific. But for a std rate you could get a view of the back of the resort (& you know what that means ) and not even a balcony!

Sooo, have ya narrowed it down any more? Considered every possibility?

Beach and hammocks or balcony overlooking????? Could get dusted.;)

Sigh... Ja. I'm pretty sure I've considered each and every single scenario. My brain is burnt, fried and crispy.

I have no clue. I wish someone would make up my mind for me. This feels kind of like being dressed up and nowhere to go! That's me. LOL

Rent an SSR studio from this guy:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2194983
who wants £5 per point ($8 USD).

A studio from 8/31 - 9/10 = 194 points @ $8 per point = $1552 which = $155.20 per night post tax or $138.50 pre tax.

If you're lucky, you would get a view like this:

Oh, I found this picture from someone's trip report:

That's $144.80 per night, or the equivalent of $129.28 per night before tax. For a room that looks like this:

Oh no! She is going to be really confused now. She's going to have to start from scratch. :rotfl2:

She already nixed a DVC rental. But, that's such a great deal at a very lovely and romantic resort ... and cheaper than what she would pay at CSR. It has more room too (355 sq feet v/s 314 sq feet) *and* they get thier own private balcony. Don't get me wrong! I adore CSR but I think that SSR will be nicer.

Oops ... I think she's checking out on the 10th ... hold on ...

ETA: 8/31 - 9/10 = 194 points = $1552 = $155.20 post tax = $138.50 pre tax.

Still cheaper than $144 - $154 for CSR.

Sorry to jump in here and be negative..let's call it honest ;) (sorry robinb) - stayed at SSR last summer (on rented points) and did not like it at all...especially for a romantic getaway.

We first checked into a studio overlooking the Grandstand pool - view was nice enough....but housekeeping came by (I have to have special cleaning requests and the room was not clean so we called) and said we were in the wrong room - thank goodness because the room felt cramped. I know the rooms are larger than CSR, but it honestly felt smaller.

Turns out we were upgraded to a one bedroom and housekeeping had done an incredible job of cleaning the carpets (the day before and still damp that a.m.!) - the room was beautiful, right next to the elevator, but very quiet and 2 mins from the first bus stop - nice, but that meant a long ride around the resort to the last stop before the parks.

We had a 3rd floor, large balcony overlooking a pretty (boring) grassy area.

Ya know, it never felt like we were in WDW or at a Disney resort - it was like being in a condo in upstate NY - which meant the theme was beautifully done. Teeny gift shop, crummy food options...soooo not my fave and would not return unless ....I'm not sure.

In all honesty, we prefer tropical - the feeling of being a million miles away from everyday. Lots of guests absolutely love SSR...just not this one.;)

Does she look like she's starving??? Look at those legs!!!

...and I gave her a kiss from "auntie" Kathy. She's playing now. ::yes::
Aww....What a cutie!
Oh there is a trip. Yes indeedy! And yes, actually, the flight story is even worse!!! But you don't wanna hear that pickle. We'd be here all weekend. :lmao:
Yes we do! We'll be here all weekend waiting for a certain someone to make up her mind anyway :teeth: So you may as well entertain us with your flight story while we wait.
Bwahahaha! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao: Wait. I thought you were going on a road trip tomorrow? :car: No?

I am looking at rates elsewhere at the moment... :rolleyes1

More rates??? Where? Spill it!

I'm kinda with you on dumping the dining plan...esp since you were just doing the QS plan...maybe you can share a CS lunch one day, and then splurge on a romanitc dinner one night.

Actually, for an inexpensive romantic dinner, grab a late CS dinner at the Cantina in Mexico...DH and I did that one night around 8pm when my in-laws decided to take the kids back to the pool...we were the only ones there...sat along the water and watched the lights twinkle in the World Showcase Lagoon.:cloud9:...If you are not a big eater you can even get by with the Kid's taco meals:thumbsup2

Yeah. That is exactly my thinking! Lordy. I don't even know where to begin with the airline tickets... I'll need a beverage or two before I start into that. The whole topic gets my blood boiling.

Any decisions chickypooo? Not to confuse you more...IF that is even possible...:rotfl2: since it is going to be blazin HOT and you are going to drop the QS plan...you may want to consider going back to CBR with a preferred location for less walking and less concrete. CSR has alot of concrete and no ability for a preferred location. OR--just stay in AKL for the interior corridors that will keep you cool as a cucumber when you are walkin around to get food and such. BUT....AKL has no hammocks...although having a balcony should make up for that. You can sit on the balcony sippin your fru-fru drinks or morning coffee after having too many adult libations the evening before ;)

Oh, I hate booking airfare. We fly out of Philadelphia, and there aren't a whole lot of options. I'm waiting for Southwest fares to come out on 6/23 and then praying for a Ding.

Dang it! No decision yet?

I've been following for two days now! And now I've got to leave for the weekend where I'll be unplugged.

What a cliffhanger! :rotfl:

Christine: I'm sorry that you had a less than magical stay at SSR. It's not my absolute favorite either, but I did think it was a great place for a relaxing stay. And it's an easy walk or boat ride over to DTD for some shopping or to grab a bite to eat.

Absolutely, I agree...for some reason whenever anyone recommends SSR that awful memory pops up! I'm sorry!
