After a hard few weeks with DS2 being very uncomfortable in his old wheelchair the new one arrived!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday was the final fitting and we got to bring it home. DS2 can only sit in it for an hour at a time then an hour out, so his body can get used to being in a good comfortable position. We walked to our local supermarket for the first time in 3 months.
Today we are going to walk around the small town where we live.

The other good news DS1 got 4 A levels at grade C. Talk about thrilled.
Now only 13 sleeps till Disney just can't wait.

Sounds like a great few days for everyone.

Hope you have a fantastic time.

Karen.

Fantastic news - it's all coming together for you isn't it?

13 more sleeps!!!! Whoo-hoooo!

Fingers crossed the weather is as good for you 5 miles away from us as it is here :)

Congratulations to DS1 on his A Levels!

hi karen

just a quick q. i was wondering if you had to pay for your ds's wheel chair. i have been saving plastic milk bottle tops for a girl in our area who needs a new one and will get one for free if she can save her weight in these tops. i think this is a really good scheme. what do you think? and did you know about such schemes?

congrats to ds on a levels too whats he going to do?

ps have a good time in wdw

Hi Lucy,

No we didn't have to pay for DS2 wheelchair Thankfully as its hand made to his funny shape and size.

Although I moan about our local mobility centre, they have never asked us to pay for any of his chairs, possibly because of the severe nature of his disability. A friend has just had to buy her daughter a new wheelchair because the mobility centre doesn't do the one she felt would suit her daughter. It gets very tricky as its hard to find out about all the different chairs availble, the mobility centre don't give you any choice. It you are less disabled and don't need something too specialist then you can apply to them for the voucher scheme, which gives you a set amount of money to buy a chair you can then add to it to get a better chair if you want. It get a bit tricky on maintanance though.

DS1 is having the year off (as most seem to do!!!!) He is undecided between going to Uni or joining the Police!!

Love
Karen

PS you will there as we are too yipeee

Great news on the wheelchair front :) Well done to your DS :)

I bet you are so excited about your holiday.

Hi Kaylee

Very excited,

Tried to do some packing this afternoon as have loads of DS2 specialist bits to get sorted, but having to try and pack without our cat catching me doing it!!!!!

He stops eating as soon as he see the cases, He will be going off to the cattery where she bribes him fresh chicken and tuna (bless).

Not a lot got packed, but have managed to sort things into piles to go(So to speak!) and started to hide bits from DS1 wardrobe so he can't find them to wear (he will want things washed and ironed the morning we go if I don't!!!)

Nearly only 12 sleeps to go

yeah we are going in just over 3 weeks. where are you staying? i have dd9 and dd5. its our first trip so im totally excited (as i keep repeating) how long are you staying for. i think we overlap for a week if you are going for two weeks as we are going for two weeks. have you been to disney before? i had a practice pack and i have told the girls not to wear trainer socks so we can pick and choose the ones we like best to take with us. lol.

Hi Lucy

We are going for 3 weeks so we can pace things for DS2.

We have been 3 times before and have loved every moment ( even when we found ourselves in the middle of the Spring Break crowds!!!!)

We are staying in a villa in Kissemmee for the first time. We need the space this time and there was no way I could share a room with DS1 feet ever again!!!. In fact his girlfriend is comimg with us too and those feet will be the best contraceptive going!!!!!!!.

I am really looking forward to showing her all the fantasic things that are Disney. Also it will be nice to have some girly company for a change.

You will just love it out there.
