I love "Legally Blonde." Why would anyone pass judgment because we like this film? Definitely for older kids/teens , but it has a terrific message about working hard, being honest, kind and true to yourself- yes there are a couple of sexual innuendos but its MUCH more innocent than what they see on TV or hear in school any given day of the week... and Reese is so darn cute.
My favorite lines:
"Any Cosmo Girl knows the rules of haircare are simple and finite."
"I object!"
"Gimme the dawg, dumb**."
"Don't you go stompin' your little last-season Prada shoes at me, honey."
(The last two have to be said with appropriate accents).
Let's just say I so identify with the main character, having been educated and worked in a field where young blondes were automatically thought to be stupid.
The only movies we can all watch together are the new Disney movies that premier on the Disney channel. But I am so happy that my daughter has discovered Hayley Mills movies. My mom introduced me to these movies when I was little and we got our first VCR. Now my DD9 and I can stay up late on the weekends and pop in a DVD of The Parent Trap or an old tape of Summer Magic (this was my all time fav..is it out on DVD yet???)
Obvioulsy all Disney movies are huge hits at my house (Pixar especially for me!), but other than those... my 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son love to watch Daddy Daycare, Elf (I LOVE THIS MOVIE), and Kindergarten Cop (I fastforward through the violent parts). I'm sure there's lots more, but just can't think of any more!
I forgot ELF!!! That's a year-round favorite for us!! Can't pack that one away with the Christmas movies!!
1. Treat everyday like Christmas.
2. There's always room on the nice list.
3. The quickest way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Love, love this movie as do my kids
Sound of Music
Princess Diaries 1 and 2
Shrek 1 and 2 can't wait for the 3rd
