Our trip was back in November, but I wanted to make sure I sent out a giant thank you to the wonderful DISigners for their great designs! :thanks: It took a bit of time to understand how to do everything and decide which designs to choose, but once I got started it was really easy and I ended up doing 19 t-shirts!

The DISigners were:
Dom aka Dom 13
Amy aka M I C KE Y
Natalie aka Donatalie
Veronica aka taekwondo mom
Lisa aka LisaBell

I used the “cheap” t-shirts from Michael’s when they went on sale and they did great. I also ended up buying 2 from Sears because I needed 2 XLT’s and ended up removing the pocket which after washing you couldn’t even tell. I used the Avery transfer paper (from WalMart) in both dark and light. I would choose to do everything in dark if I could, it was so much easier!!

I did have some bleeding through the transfer on the red t-shirts, but not on any other color. Many have reported that, so I wasn’t surprised but careful not to iron it too long. The only tshirt that cracked (I realized in the bus line on the way to MK   ) was the one for my step-dad - A “Grandpa” mickey head with Mr. Smead on it. I was really disappointed about that, but I wonder if I over-ironed because that was my largest design on the XLT shirt. I did wash them all in a vinegar wash after they were done. I didn’t seem to notice much of a difference but was glad that they wouldn’t run if it rained (which it didn’t.)

Thanks again! Now on to the pictures which I've listed the DISgners themselves.

Veronica's Designs:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1858558

This was a bit more challenging as Veronica's computer crashed right before I was going to request some designs. So, I went through EVERY single page of her thread to find my kid's name's and styles. I also was able to find some in her PhotoBucket. I thought her designs were so great that I did whatever I could to use them! I'm glad she's back up and designing again!

Sorry - that's syrup all over DS's shirt. :upsidedow

Your shirts look great! What a special trip with the Grandparents and your boys are so cute! Looks like you had a great time.

Autograph Cards from Natalie aka Donatalie
Clip Art from Veronica aka tawkwondo mom

After finishing 19 tshirts, I ran out of time (and steam) trying to figure how to print these out. So, I ended up just taking blank 4 x 6 notecards with us and having the characters autograph the blank cards on a clipboard. This really did work out well as we weren't trying to figure out where the cards were or worrying if we saw someone whose card we didn't have.

When we came back my DH figured out how to crop and print the cards and I went to work. There were a few cards that I needed to rearrange the names or pictures due to the signature and a few I needed to make with the help of Veronica's clipart. Some I made all by myself (Rhino & Bolt.) I had a few problems doing the designs after the signatures - twice the cards got jammed in the computer, two I printed upside down and a few borders didn't print (which I fixed with a marker.) Oh well, I don't think the boys have even noticed.

I put the cards in a photo album we bought at DW and put the photos with the cards in the order we saw them. I also made a few cards that I put their tickets on and what we did for the day. I'm really proud of those books!

Well, that's all. I can finally cross this off my "to-do" list. However, my SIL likes the shirts so much she's made comments about having some for their trip in October. She has 3 girls, so I have to admit, princess, crowns and perhaps some bling sound like a lot of fun to make!

Thanks for all your time, hard work and creativity DISigners!

Michelle,
Everything looks FANTASTIC! Thanks for taking the time to share pictures with us!

Amazing!!! Everything looks just awesome!!!!

I love it!!!

I just wanted to say as well how talented all of you are!!!

Everything looks great. I like your idea of the blank cards. I may still print the ones I know we will see, but bring blanks and use those for any unexpected sightings and them print them when we get home! Glad you enjoyed your trip.

YOU have saved me HOURS and HOURS of borrowed time (time I didnt have really to begin with)

Did you try making the signature cards with any of the filled in designs?

I am sooo going to do that.. then make the book after. You are a GENIUS!

Can someone tell me how to do this? I found several designs here, but not sure how to get them on a shirt. Are there tutorials or anything here? Thanks!
