A Gem of a trip-quality, clarity, color and "Cut that out!" completed 8/4

I don't understand why you had to take 2 monorails to get to the TTC.
When we have taken the monorail from MK to the Poly the TTC is the stop after the Contemporary.??

You're right. I started writing this and than came back to it later. I've fixed it. I even missed telling you about yet another standoff moment with Dh.

Great update! Loved that you had that time w/ Eeyore.
Thx for sharing LeCellier & the Canada pics.

It was nice. It makes me wish I could take each of the kids one on one for an entire Disney trip.

Nice update!
Too bad about the sauce on the salmon. I am going to try to get an ADR for LeCellier this Sept.

Nice moment with Eeyore!

Definately do le cellier this next trip.

Ooh! A Sea World chapter! I'm so excited! We're planning to try Sea World on one of our future trips!

Sorry about the bus. What a nightmare! :headache: :headache: :headache:

There is not as much information out there about Sea World. But I highly suggest getting there early to feed the dolphins. It was on our list but as you know by now we didn't make it. I wish I had scheduled time to spend two days there.

Ok so last week I tried to buy a rediculously overpriced soda from a vending machine at POP and it wouldn't take the new $5 bill either. I sooooo was thinking that it was something wrong I was doing!

So I will never being taking the bus to SeaWorld. That sounds like a nightmare. Sorry :( I'm confident that you'll be able to pet penguins though!

I love how you throw in the "Just last week I was in the world".

Not that I'm jealous or anything.:lmao:

In fact I am enjoying your new trip report and urge any one reading this to check it out.

Sea World was great when I used to live in San Diego. Travelling to Sea World when you live elsewhere, however, is not as much fun.

The last time we went, years and years ago, the "baby" threw up in the van as we pulled into the parking lot.

The high point of the Sea World day was our lunch w/ Shamu. Def. a great "try it once" experience but too pricey to do every time.

Sea World is fascinating and gorgeous but you have to be in the right frame of mind (and feel well) to smell sealife all day.

Discovery Cove and Aquatica look very cool too.

You like that plug??? ;)

Actually I was trying to point out that they clearly STILL haven't fixed the machines (6 months later) and those $5 bills have been out for ages

Really I was :rolleyes1

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :rotfl2:

Hi,
All caught up. never been to Sea World down there but went to one in San Diego and it was so much fun.

be back in a few days.

The first thing we noticed when we exited the restaurant was the most beautiful rainbow. It rained while we eating (only lightly) and produced this magnificent bright arch. Perhaps it was all the grey skies we had been looking at lately but it was truly a sight to be seen.
We saw that too, we were in the UK so you might have passed us :rotfl2: It was a perfect rainbow wasn't it :goodvibes

As I head towards the back of the bus I notice a familiar face. It’s DisneyJo with her family again. Apparently hard-core Disney fans think alike. We exchange pleasantries as the bus takes us back to POR.
Me again :rotfl: Epcot is our favourite park so we go there loads :rotfl2:

Your bus ride sounds horrible, we were thinking of taking the bus to the mall last year, I'm so glad we didn't now!

Finally!!!! Someone remembers that week the same way I do! :) Nobody else thinks Fay was so bad. I looked like a drowned rat all week. Not that it was a bad thing, we had a great time.... a wet time, but a great time:thumbsup2

I have to give you props, I have no idea how you lasted days in a dollar store poncho. I brought my $1 poncho with me and it blow off the first morning  I ended up spending $40 on a giant umbrella and $8 on a Disney poncho and was still more wet then dry half the time :)

I'm really enjoying your trip report :thumbsup2

Mercy. This installment gave me a headache just trying to keep up with all the transfers. :headache:

Fortunately, Sea World is much more forgiving to late arrivals than Disney. I just hope you were not late for Clyde and Seamore. :lmao:

All my three kids are prone to car sickness. I have gravol in every purse, jacket pocket and vehicle.

Hi,
All caught up. never been to Sea World down there but went to one in San Diego and it was so much fun.

I've been to the San diego one too. But about 10 years ago for a convention. Okay maybe more than 10 but I don't want to date myself. It was an aerobic instructor's convention. You never saw so much neon spandex in one place before.

We saw that too, we were in the UK so you might have passed us :rotfl2: It was a perfect rainbow wasn't it :goodvibes

We might have but with your eagle eye for lime green mickey heads you'd have caught me

Was that the day of the horrible storm you described driving through? Okay in that case the bus sounds like a good idea but a taxi sounds even better

Yes, it was horrible. No sun for 5 days. Not your picture perfect florida vacation. I think we all would have had a better time if we hadn't been the year before in perfect weather.

I give you props for using an umbrella. Ours kept popping up in the wind.

I'm really enjoying your trip report :thumbsup2

Thanks! It's always nice to hear.

What a frustrating situation! I hope you make it for your tour!

Well I had paid for the tour in advance. So even if we didn't get this tour Dh was going to make sure we got something for our money. This is the man who made us wear the dollar store rainponchos all week. Well, except the one that Cindy threw up on at the haunted mansion. I threw that one out. He was going to wash it in the pool. Just makes you want to go swimming doesn't it?

We diamondclan so love our shows. So you know it was on my list. Plus it was free so Dh would agree. But you'll have to stick around to find out.

Just noticed that Boatwrights at POR is not going to be serving breakfasts anymore. That means that my sweet potato pancakes will be gone.

It is a sad, sad day.:sad1:

This was just plain silly. I'm so sorry you had to waste your time waiting on busses. Look on the bright side - At least you have helped those of us who were thinking about going to Sea World while at WDW.

The lineup to enter was about 8 people deep. So it a couple minutes to get through the turnstiles.

Then of course although I had looked at the maps of sea world on the computer I didn’t actually have one in my hand so I had to find a map and ask somewhere where the check-in desk was.

About now, all the kids are getting hungry and are seeing all the ice cream signs at the shops at the entrance. So they are starting to demand some food. Of course some of us have to go to the bathroom as well (no names but let’s just say I was the only adult who watched my liquid intake that morning!) and I was left with hungry whiny kids, who had been stuck on public transportation all morning instead of Disney theme park rides.

We find the check in desk. It is past 10:15 by this point. I have lost my chance at the first polar tour. The check –in desk is not actually a check-in desk. It is just an information desk. So anyone can sign up for the tours that day. You don’t have to pre-book like I did. I started to feel kind of cheated or maybe just stupid for not going with the flow. Apparently that was what people did here at Sea world. No wonder I couldn’t find much information on this place in Tour Guide Mike.

There were two counters open and five people waiting. Both counters were occupied by people asking questions about possible tours. Lots of questions. This really angered me because as I mentioned I only needed to check-in. Disney would have had a check-in desk and an information desk. Disney would have known not to anger the customers they already had by making them wait like this. The people in line before and behind me both had pre-booked. We co-miserated together.

Finally a manager came out and started talking to people in the line-up. He didn’t do anything other than confirm we were in the right place. Eventually he left us to join one of the conversations at the counter with the people asking questions. Somehow they got on to state football. I was really getting fumed. At least the kids were with Dh and Poppa and I didn’t have to listen to them whining.

Finally I got to the counter. We rebooked our tour. Which also meant we had to rebook our lunch. I had us going to the backstage at believe lunch.

When I got back to the rest of my group I noticed that Dh gave in and bought everyone something to eat. He was suffering from sticker shock as being on the dinning plan at Disney had meant he hadn’t had to fork out $29 for ice cream and rice crispy treats. Now I wasn't there so this is from what Poppa tells me but I guess Dh was sending some of the stuff back when he found out how much the total was and the kids were crying so Poppa took over and paid for it. Thanks Pops! He even bought me a frozen coffee drink. I was glad I pre-paid for lunch when I heard this. I didn’t think Dh could take anymore menu prices. It's just best if he doesn't have to know.

So we packed everyone up and wiped the ice cream off them and headed to the meeting place of the arctic tour. Now just in case you haven’t been to Sea world you might not know but the place is quite spread out. You can go around the outside or on a boardwalk through the middle. Only it really isn’t the middle. It’s an optical illusion. We took the optical illusion first. I kept count because remember I wasn’t feeling so great. My core muscles ached from coughing and every step I took bounced me and consequently hurt.

There were about 20 of us on the tour. The bus could hold more so I am guessing that it wasn’t packed. We were the only Canadians. I should look up the tour to tell you the price but I’m too lazy to right now.

I had read about the tour on other people’s trip reports. It sounded like fun. You go back stage at the arctic exhibit, get some background information about the animals and get to pet a penguin. It all sounded good. In reality, it was kind of rushed and back stage is not much to look at so I wish I had of saved my money. My kids really enjoy shows and because we late getting to the park and had this tour we missed the shows.

Our tour guide was new. She was being tested by her examiner. She was really nervous and was even sweating in the arctic exibits. It is the penguin keepers who tell you how to act when you are with them. So I don't have any pictures of the guide just the penguin keeper.

Anyhow, here are the pictures. Notice who is missing. That’s right me. No one took any pictures of me.

We had some time to kill before our lunch so we decided to play hide and seek with the kids and see if they could hide from us. At least one of the kids thought it would be funny to play this. Guess which one we lost at SeaWorld? Click here to find out http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30607393&postcount=642

Under most circumstances I'm sure it would have been fine. I just had too many circumstances stacked against me.

I love penguins. Sorry there's no pic of you with them. I once kissed a seal...not at Sea World though.

My bet is on you losing Eeyore.

cute pics with the penguin.

sorry you did not get one.

I think we went shopping on a Thursday :confused3:

I'm sorry the tour wasn't all that and I bet your DH was pleased you had the DDP after spending that much on some snacks :rotfl:
