A gathering of disers in the Swindon area. ***photos added***

Hi folks as we are now into the new year and this years trip is drawing nearing I thought it would be nice if we could meet up and chat about our trips, old and new.
I would like to suggest that we hold it somewhere just off of the M4 in the Swindon area as this would be good of people on both the M4 and M5
If anyone can suggest a family friendly pub in the location that would suit us please suggest away.

Although I'm not there at the moment, I'm originally from Calne in Wilts. There is a nice pub that does lovely food at a place called Kington St Michael. It is just off the M4 at Junction 17 (Chippenham junction), about 2 miles down the A350 towards Chippenham. It is called The Plough and the landlord is a good friend of my Dad's - the pub itself is quite big and has two sections, a seated area and bar area.

Alternatively, just a bit further down the A350, there is a Brewsters which has the kids play area (I forget what it's called). Food is basic but, obviously, is very child friendly.

Depending when the meet is, I would certainly consider coming along. Would do me good to get out of rainy NI for a bit

I would probably not be able to make it if it was before the middle of Feb (flights start to get expensive if you don't book them far enough in advance ) but, even if I can't go, I'm sure you will like the Plough and hope you have a great time

Trains are frequent from Paddington but I don't know how far kington langley is from the station - could anyone enlighten?

There is a train station at Chippenham, which connects direct with Paddington. I would say the train station is probably about 4 or 5 miles but I'm sure someone could pick you up if you would like to come

I have checked out the flights and Easyjet are doing some good prices for March (if we make a long weekend of it) so I will speak to my Dad today about staying at his and then we will be definites
