We wanted to make enough to pay for DD & DGD to go to Discovery Cove today and we did it! I tried some of the tips on this board and have to say they worked! Cha Ching!

Addition:

I live about a block from one of our Walmarts so I put a big (bright lime green, of course) sign up right as you pull into Walmart parking lot. One funny thing; as I was putting up the Walmart sign, thier automatic sprinkler system kicked in and me and my sign got drenched! LOL I found another spot.

Lots of people said they just stopped on their way to Walmart or after they got out. I used big signs at intersections too and small same color ones that just had arrows and Yard Sale on them so people could follow the arrows.

I think I'll have another (for extra spending money) in September to sell the leftover stuff. Only my granddaughters summer clothes sold well this time...I should have guessed that but didn't. So we'll hopefully sell her fall/winter stuff in September. I don't even think I'll place an add then and I saved all my signs.

One of the tips that didn't work was: No ones going to buy little girls panties even though they've been washed/bleached and folded neatly in baggies!

That's great! We had one today too with leftovers from a previous yardsale and some of my DD clothes. I really didn't think we would make much but ended up walking away with $100. Needed that much for our Town Car Transfers and have alittle left over to boot! I'm Happy!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Congrats! Can't wait to hear more about the dolphins when you get back. I want to take DD next year.

Good for you! I never make all that much when I have a garage sale. Had 2 last spring, and made a total of $200-$36 for ads! I think some areas are better than others for garage sales!:(

We also had a garage sale on Saturday. It was great weather and we had a fair amount of traffic. The arrows for signs worked well for us too.

We did not have many large items and my goal was around $300. We did closer to $400. Not too bad for a day's work. Now we have extra cash for our upcoming trip.
