I was reading the cruise board and it reminded me of something that happened on my DCL cruise in March of 2003.
at CC my DH and I decided to snorkel - I was 4 months pregnant at the time and my DH wasn't sure this was the best idea but I REALLY wanted to find Mickey - so we swam around and found him -
another couple came by and we all decided to get our pictures with Mickey - I tried first but was not strong enough at 4 months pregnant to swim down far enough - so the other 3 went and would grab onto Mickey's head for the picture - I was catching my breath and several more swimmers came along and had their pictures taken with Mickey - mind you that everyone was grabbing on to Mickey and turning his head to face the camera
Since it seemed so easy for everyone else - I was determined not to let my pregnancy stand in the way - so I took a deep breath and swam down - I grabbed onto Mickey and still can not believe what happened next - his head toppled off!!!!!!!!!!!!
I came up and told my group that I was quite sure that Mickey's head had fallen off - they all told me my pregnancy was greatly affecting my brain and ducked under to check - they quickly confirmed my worst fear! I had beheaded Mickey Mouse!!!
I could tell that his head was screwed on and obviously it was intended to turn - but I had images of little kids swimming by and being horrified by a headless Mickey. So I swam to the lifeguard and told him what happened - he said okay - called on his little walkie talkie and I heard himsay "Mickey's head needs to be put back on" apparently this was not the first time (Thank goodness)
I later found out that his head is designed to turn in the currents so that it would not break off and that people grab onto it and turn it all the time!
If I ever get the nerve to develop my photos (my inability to develop film is why I have a digital camera) I will post them (of course I took pictures of headless Mickey!) My biggest fear is that someday my children will find the pictures and know the horrible truth about their mother!

Title is innappropriate for an otherwise humerous post.
