Hi everyone, I am going to be applying to the DCP for the first time for Spring 2014! I ultimately want to become an imagineer when I grow up (so I guess I won't ever become an imagineer! :rotfl: ). I really want to get a feel for what it's like to work in a theme park and DCP provides an excellent opportunity to do so! I've been to Disneyland many many times, and I haven't gotten bored of it one bit. Unfortunately though, I've only been to WDW once when I was an infant, so I don't quite remember that experience. My question is will that be seen as a negative if I've "never" been to WDW before? I would be happy to work at either location for my potential CP, but I'm afraid that my lack of exposure to WDW will hurt me, and I will only be considered for DL. Does anyone have any insight on this?

You should be just fine :) I can't tell you the amount of CPs I know whose first time seeing the castle was in traditions.

Don't stress it. The only time I had been to WDW was for two days, and that was 3 years before my CP. I applied and was accepted within two weeks. Good luck and have fun! Ps: sorry for the multiple posts, I accidentally hit publish ;)

I interviewed and am currently a CP. My only time at WDW was when I was 5 years old and I barely remembered anything about it. I was honest about this fact in the interview but kept enthusiastic. I was practical about my reasoning for doing the internship and was accepted within 2-3 days.

That's good to hear! It just seems like not having a good background at WDW would be a bit of a disadvantage since there is so much to take in. Are people usually assigned to one park only or a mix between all of them? Also, are there CPers at CA Adventure?

Not really, The college program is the First Job for many people. There is more than ample training, after two weeks, you're good to go. When you get assigned a role, you are usually kept at one location. However, you have the ability to pick up shifts in other locations. It is very rare to be scheduled in a different location other than your own.

My D19 will be applying for Spring 2014 too.

We went to DL and DCA for the first time Jan 2013 (been to WDW countless times from 2000-2011. Spring 2011 my S23 was a CP). Man that DL castle is tiny!!

If you use your tales of Disney-love, say your a team player, and smile you're in!
