I have a cunning plan

On my next trip in January I'm getting a free day when the rest of the Family are at Kennedy Space Center, so I have decided to dedicate that day to getting Unique resort items. As unique park items and snacks I can pick up when we visit with the family in tow (although I'm not sharing lol)

So my plan is:

First thing in the morning either walking from the Dolphin to DHS bus stop or going through Epcot (don't worry ticket will cover me doing that) and getting the bus to AKL to get Zebra Domes.

Then go from AKL to POFQ hopefully by Minnie Van (or by Lyft) to get some Beignet

Get a bus to to MK from there get the boat to WL to go Geyser Point Bar and Grill for Lunch and their off menu cocktail (if I can find the vlog Ryno and Steve did to remember what it's called).

Back on to the boat to MK then on another boat to either Grand Floridan to have a look in and then Walk, or depending on time I might get the boat straight over, to the Poly to have Ohana Bread pudding and a Lapu Lapu

finally off to Disney Springs for by 6pm Reservation at Planet Hollywood with the family (didn't pick that restaurant so don't judge lol).

So what I really want to know is there anything else that I am missing off (Probably a lot) but more helpfully in the Seven Sea Lagoon area that I have to try? (without having to make a reservation).

Oh and one last thing I am not the biggest fan of Coconut so if any of your suggestions are coconut based I probably wouldn't eat it - but everything else if fine either Savory, Sweet and Drinkable.

Sounds like my kind of day! I am a huge zebra dome fan

This idea sprang from Zebra Domes as the last two trips I'd been trying to get my Husband to run me over to AKL to get them but something always came up or he'd moan about how far it was, for just a snack.

So I said on this trip I was going to Minnie Van there and back to get them (as a bad UK driver probably safer if I didn't try driving over there lol) and from those chat this whole day of fun was born.

heard great thing about them and so glad people like them as I have a feeling I'm going to find them super yummy.

IF you make beignets at POFQ a later stop you can potentially bus over to there from a park, then boat to disney springs for dinner...thus avoiding the uber earlier in the day- I would go from AKL_MK to get the bus to WL...then do the rest, with POFQ on the way to dinner...(you'll be pretty full by then of course lol)

Oh I didn't know you could get a boat from POFQ to DS might have to give that a go and re-jig my plans a bit.

Although as I'm a bit sad and want to use them, if I can, fit in a Minnie van trip in for one of the journeys lol

Up to you...I'd rather save the $20,and have a nice boat ride.

Definitely will do the boat ride to DS - thinking more I can fit in the Minnie Van between the Poly and POFQ

Agreed it isn't the best use of $20 just so I can ride in a spotty car; but I am being a total tourist and as it new and shiny, I have to try it lol

Sounds interesting.
You can also hop on the Friendship boat at Dolphin which goes directly to Hollywood, where you can walk to the bus queue.

Just making sure - unless I missed it, you have no reason listed to actually use up a park ticket - unless you are planning on going into a park for something? I'm only seeing that you would actually need a ticket if you wanted to walk from the ig of Epcot to the entrance to catch a bus - unless you are going into some parks during your snack journey.

Also, if you've never had a dole whip, I'd try to work in a dole whip (or better yet, a pineapple float) when you are around MK. I think you can get them somewhere in the Poly still?

Added edit - to remove statement about Bus from Dolphin to AKL. (in case anyone is looking or WAS looking and sirens went off in their head. My mistake. back to your originally scheduled programming.)

Yes! Get a pineapple vanilla swirl at the Poly!

In the UK the tickets for Disney are different from the one you guys get. As you can get a hopper ticket to use through the length of your stay it's either for 7, 14 or 21 consecutive day (depending on length of your trip) from the first day of use. So I could use it to pop through the IG to the bus park.

Did that last year with the wine and dine half after the race just used the ticket to walk back to the Dolphin.

Back to the food and seeing yourself and @Disnsyncey have both have suggest pineapple treats at the Poly will definitely add those to my list.

Thanks

Gotcha.
I'm a major fan of the pineapple float - refreshing, sweet, and sour.

Depending on how much walking you'll do that day, if it were me, I don't think I'd cut through Epcot unless I wanted to hop on Soarin (or something.)
I'm probably much lazier than you are, though.

I'd boat to HS, (then probably check wait times for tower of terror, and do a few silly photopass pics to show the fam after your trip) then hop on a bus to akl. There will probably be a photopass person set up at the top of the walkway from the boat near the entrance to HS. That's a GREAT photo-op spot.

Also, since you are staying at Dolphin, and you like treats? - Ample Hills Creamery on the Boardwalk. Ice cream. Do not miss it. At some point on your trip, go there. It's right there. Maybe on the way back to Dolphin after Epcot one day. It's not the standard issue ice cream that other Disney places sell. You'll see.

Only because I'm planning to hit it up for bread pudding, too...I'm assuming you want to get the bread pudding from Tambu Lounge at Poly? Be aware that they don't serve food until 5pm. Not sure you can get it and make it to your reservation at 6? Never tried that route at that time, but wanted to be sure you knew about the 5pm thing...I didn't and had to move some plans around when I figured it out.

I'd put the Poly after Planet Hollywood, so your bread pudding can really be dessert and you can take your time with more than one drink if it catches your fancy. I strongly recommend the boozy Dole Whip from Trader Sam's patio if you get a chance.

To make the travel easier, I'd end the breakfast/lunch part of the day at POFQ so you can boat over to Disney Springs. Then after dinner, grab a bus to the Poly and make the snack/drink tour of the monorail resorts. You can always use the Minnie Van to get back to the Dolphin at the end of the night if you really want to work that in and don't use it in your earlier hopping around.

Last I heard, at AKL there was a free tour (around 3PM or 4PM?) of Boma and Jiko that includes a free zebra dome.

@chris benton good Idea depending on which way I go I might sneak a quick TOT or Soarin into my trip before heading to AKL.

Ohh poop I did not know that about the 5pm thing darn it, although I see from the Lunch Menu I can still have the lapu lapu so not all is lost.

@Colleen27 I do like the idea of going back to the Poly after DS for Trader Sams - Hmmm :scratchin wonder if the in laws after spending the whole day out with my DS will want to babysit after dinner, so I can go and have a few beevys :drinking1and pudding lol :thumbsup2.

If not I'll definitely be fitting the pudding into somewhere else in my trip :rotfl:

Depending on what time you are leaving in the morning, if you walk through Epcot stop at the Refreshment Port and get yourself a cronut. That is the one item each member of my family absolutely loves and has to eat on every trip. Your plan sounds great. Enjoy!!

Instead of the boat to HS or walking to the front of Epcot. Why not take the Bus to AK and then transfer to the AKL bus? It's like a 5 minute bus ride between the park and lodge. They have zebra domes in the refrigerator cases at the Mara. Don't have to go to Boma for them.

Good luck! Sounds like a winning plan to me, except I'd never be able to look at food by dinner time, even foregoing the alcoholic drink. Too many sweets for this gal - would have to skip some for something savory! :-)

Oh never had a Cronut so if it's open definitely get one of those

I want to walk in some vain attempt to do something healthy before stuffing my face lol

Thanks for the advice I was planning on go to Mara and eat them while walk about checking out the hotel.

True, think I might end up a bit stuffed and probably crashing from the sugar high come dinner time lol
