Day 5 October 8
Cast of Characters
DH = Hubby of Sound Mind - 31
Me = Freak 30
Pal = Pal Mickey
Since we were able to get both Universal parks out of the way the previous day, we happily went to Epcot. To be honest, I was a bit worried about not going to Epcot since (as you will see shortly), our next two days were reserved to visiting DHs brother (days 6 and 7). And DHs brother lives about 2 hours away! That means we planned to stay over both night 6 and night 7, which left our traveling back to the World on Day 8 our LAST DAY! Ok, this might not be making sense to anyone but me so Ill break it down. Driving back to the World on our last day AND getting the souvies AND seeing Epcot AND making it to our dinner PS at Cinderellas Royal Table by 7, seemed impossible. BUT, hallelujah (is that really how you spell it?! huh ), Epcot could be seen and conquered TODAY!!
We got there fairly early (about 10 ish staring to see a pattern?) and started in Future World of course. My first quest was to get FPs for Test Track. DH had no idea about this ride and neither of us had been on it before. I was a little surprised that the wait line was 70 minutes long and the FPs were scheduled for 4:30! Holy busy ride! Standing under the outside portion of the track was pretty exhilarating so we were glad we got he FPs when we did.
Then we were free to wander. We checked out Innoventions and played a bit. We also loved playing the new Disney game Haunted Mansion (we just had to get it when we got home). We already have Kingdom Hearts (love it) so we bypassed that game. We also stood on line a bit for the House Tour (I have no idea of the real name). Then a CM came out and suggested that given the number of people on line and the group size admitted for the tour, we would be on line for 40-60 minutes. He suggested that we come back after 3, when there is rarely a line. So we opted to do that. TOO BAD WE NEVER GOT BACK THERE!! I also sent a cheesy photoe mail home to my workplace since I had not sent a postcard (bad me). The funniest part about that photo is that there is some random persons hand in it. Some crazy child came running over to check out what was going on. Her mom called her back, but with the inertia of the kid, the hand was only able to trail behind the kid. Always, always in my photos some random person walks in front of me. Perhaps Im just too slow and deliberate about my cheesy photos. Anyway
OH OH! We finally got to Ice Station Cool and tried BEVERLY! Im sure everyone knows that Beverly is Italys version of Coke? Anyway, it was HORRIBLE!! After reading so much about Beverly, I really thought it would be good! I guess its just hard to hear a sarcastic tone when reading print. Sad. But a fun experience. Of course I said holy crap this SU&KS and made DH try it. In my defense, hes a guido I thought hed like it!
Now we had rumblies in our tumblies. I strategically went counterclockwise again and headed straight for Le Cellier for lunch. I knew we would both love it (thanks to the boards) and lunch is sometimes cheaper, right? Aah, but heres the rub. Our hungry selves were hightailin it to LeCellier and a CM jumped out of nowhere and offered us FREE tickets to see the Wayne Brady Show! FREE I said FREE! My first thought was eh, this is probably somewhere else not in Epcot were hungry my stomach is eating itself from inside I might have to gnaw on DHs arm! so well we politely declined and RAN to lunch. I dont think I need to say this, but lunch was awesome. Our CM waitperson was REALLY cheery. Im a pretty cheery person myself, but she was over the top. But we gave a good tip rest assured.
After lunch we were contented to again wander. We hung out in England and saw the cutest, most audience participatory version of King Arthur and the Holy Grail, and continued on. We wandered a bit more and saw the lovely sites of the other countries. All the while, hearing a growingly louder group. What could that be? we wondered. It sounds like its coming from the American Adventure, I said. Curious, very curious. We tried a kaki gori (no one told me this was just a snow cone!) and we made it to the crowd. Yup you guys know IT WAS THE WAYNE BRADY SHOW! $$@!@(%&#@! We could have been in there for FREE! And it just started! We wouldnt have needed to rush lunch or our trip around half of the world. Argh, bad decision. At that moment, I started chanting in my head in the future, I promise to accept free things, in the future I promise I was a bit saddened, but we pressed on and rode the Norway ride (the name escapes me at this moment). It was fun, but I cant help remembering these two weird women behind in the line talking about . its pretty amazing that Norway would have the best ride at Epcot. Well, in the World Showcase. I guess this is the only real ride in the World Showcase, but it is the best. These were not 10 year olds they were full-grown 30ish women. HELLO! And what do they have against Norway. Im sure the Norwegians are clever enough to create a good ride.
We continued around through the rest of the countries and ended up at Test Track around our FP time. Loved it! DH was psyched about it since hes a guy. He was even more excited about the Chevy area after you exit the ride. oh my god its Chevy stuff gotta Chevy stuff
I wonder if I can get a picture of me in the Tahoe or maybe in the Hummer Hummer Hummer Tahoe Hummer. Im a freak for Disney, hes a freak for Chevy trucks. I think this was DHs favorite part of the trip. And no, we did not win the free vehicle. I wonder if anyone has. After this, we decided to head back to the room. DH was worn out after bouncing around the Chevy area and I had to do some laundry, and get ready for the trip to see the brother. A calm night was a nice change of pace.
