Day (1) October 3
The Day Before the Trip
Cast of Characters
DH = Hubby of Sound Mind - 31
Me = Freak - 30
Cinders = dopey lab 2.5 yrs old
I awoke early in the a.m. to go to work for the last day before VACATION! Of course, I was unable to concentrate all day. Thankfully, I only scheduled 4 real estate closing, all of which would be taken care of in the a.m. AND, surprisingly, all clients were happy and did not dampen my last-day-before-vacation good mood. All day my plan was to get done a little early to get home to pack. I had already done all of the laundry the night before so I could finish my packing by 8:00 p.m. Why 8:00 p.m.? Thats when the Disney Secrets show on the Travel Channel was aired and I wanted to get even more psyched before the trip. Mind you, DH was home ALL DAY to make sure that Cinders found her way to the dog boarder and to prepare himself for a week of the Freak in her laughing place. He called me at work around 2:00 and suggested that we go out to dinner. This is where the plans started to go awry. But I rolled with it I mean, how can I be grouchy about not seeing the Disney show when I was going to see Disney in only a matter of hours?! So I sucked it up and agreed.
I got home from work at about 6:00 and was ready to get to dinner and get home to pack before bed. But, I find the dog lovingly greeting me at our front door. Lovely, good dog, bad DH. I said Hi Cinders. DH, why am I saying Hi to Cinders? I thought she would be at the boarders house by now. Apparently the boarder did not call with instructions and a drop off time. I took a deep breath, picked up the phone and solved that problem. This is a side point, but men can be assertive sometimes, but when it comes to the phone, forget it! Next, I packed up the dog and her stuff and all 3 of us headed out the door to the boarders and then to dinner. The rest of the night is a blur, but we ate, packed, slept, and had wonderful Disney dreams (well, I did anyway).
