A follow up to "My Open Letter"

I got a different answer because I was upset about the differences from the two cards (probably).

At any rate, we all know it is from a cutback rather than an addition of services...

I am curious how the questions were phrased that led them to believe WE don't want the DC any more.

Are you satisfied with the DC services provided?
Would you be happy with less services for more money?

etc...

HI .. I read your open letter awhile ago, and I was wondering if you have any more follow up then what was posted here. I, too, am very disappointed and dismayed by Disney's recent actions and attitudes. I really was hoping that this year, when travel was down, that we long time followers of the Mouse, would be able to get the same discounts on tickets that Florida residents get. Instead we got a price increase instead and I am NOT GOING TO DISNEY THIS YEAR NOR IN THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE! I have been going since year one. I remember the big tree just outside the train station in the Magic Kingdom, and now I feel that Disney neither cares or wants my business. Oh and this "Deal" that they gave on rooms, I have been paying $35 per night off grounds. This was not a deal to me. Plus the Disney Travel Club is ending and I won't get the "visa card for the elietes" . . Let us know what else you have heard .. Thank bjlc

We have gone to WDW continuously since 1975--our first visit was in 1973--in recent years we have spent 12-14 weeks on property---we have noted all of the things you mentioned in your letter and more---Disney is all about the "bottom line" and not the guests anymore--you would think if you spent 12 weeks a year in a Disney resort they would give you ONE NIGHT FREE!!!! There are still a few cast members who reflect the "spirit" of Walt Disney--but I have told them time after time that there are too many employees and not enough cast members on staff! I totally agree about the lack of discounts for the annual passholders--we have had annual passes since 1990--back then the discounts were great--but not so anymore AND I still miss the Magic Kingdom Club--membership was free and the discounts and packages were unbelieveable--kept us coming back. We, also, chose not to get the new Bank One Visa. I appreciate you taking the time to put your feelings in writing--I email them all of the time, but I think I am going to put those notes into letter form and mail it out. Thanks, Nancy

Wow, I finally found a group of people on these boards who can see the forest for the trees and are not brainwashed. I am new to the boards and I thought for a while that I was the only one who could see the emperor was not wearing any clothes
with respect to Disney(wow two cliches in the space of two sentences but hey if the shoe fits ha ha). I had written a similar letter a couple of years ago and got no response. Then again, I did not have access to the names and addresses that I find on these boards.
My husband always says of Disney in recent years, " if you go and you find something good that you enjoy and it is a vaule it will not be there next year." Walt must be spinning in his grave. I have gone to Disneyland and World for over 30 years. I guess that is not loyal enough for them. I have had an annual pass since ' 91. Even though the expiration date
on my free Disney Club Card was Jan 2003 they confiscated it in June last year as I spent over $1000.00on annual passes!!! The discount would have maybe amounted to 30.oo! No way will I get a Disney Credit card. I will just find alternate ways to save money in the park and actually enjoy knowing that "they" have not won. For starters, I am buying a couple of cases of water at Costco (same brand they sell for 2.50) which cost bout 35 cents apiece and save 20.00 per day. This will more than make up for the lost club card. I know that this will not amount to a hill of beans for the bottom line but if everyone does something like this then maybe the message will become a little clearer.
