A flu shot question

I have not had any of my pts say that it hurt. Most of my pts don't realize that I have given them the shot until I tell them they are all done. It is like Krisu says ya do it enough and ya get good. I do take pride in giving a good shot. I know that is an oxymoron.:D

Hey Missymouse, at least we can put that in our resumes:D BTW did I mention I HATE to get shots:eek: Guess I can dish it out but I can't take it:rolleyes:

I've been getting it for a few years now, and sometimes it hurts and sometimes is doesn't. I think it must be the person who is doing the injecting. Last year I got it in the supermarket (nurses at a long table) and didn't feel a thing. I'm doing that again this year.

Please don't the the thought of it hurting for a short time stop you from getting the shot. It is far worse to get the flu than the shot.

My sister, who's a nurse, told me last night that it's SUPPOSED to hurt afterwards as it's supposed to go into the muscle, not the fleshy part of your arm. So I guess if I get really muscle-sore afterwards, I know it got it in the right spot! I go this afternoon and I'm not looking forward to it-I'm a big baby with shots(but that didn't stop me from making my kids get allergy shots for 5 years!)

Flu shots cause a sharp sting at injection and muscle soreness for a day or two. MUCH MUCH better than being sick with the flu. I got mine on Friday and arm is back to normal today. Taking my kids on "Flu Shot Saturday" for free shots, but shhhhh...they don't know it yet. DH is with the crowd that would rather be sick than be subjected to a needle. Poor guy.
