Day One – February 1 – The Drive

First Day started with getting the kiddies off to school. I went home for some last minute packing, and then pack to Teddy Bear’s Mardi Gras parade. It was a blast !! I loved looking at all the kid’s floats and of course my little man. They paraded around and then came back to throw us some beads !

I see a Cars float and a Cinderella float….

Spiderman, Football and Teddy Bear floats…

After the parade, we went home for a little while, then picked up Bird from school around 1:30 and hit the road ! On the way, we saw this and I had to take a pic for Teddy Bear.

Missed the Mississippi sign but got this one….

Next thing you know we were here ….

We got back in the car (ugh!) and drove to Live Oak, Florida. There we stopped at the Best Western for the night. Nothing eventful. We were very tired at this time and just wanted to sleep.

I love those piggy pajama's too. I told my DH I wish they had them in my size too. He wisely kept his mouth shut.

And guess what...that isn't me. That is my mom. I am taking the picture.



BTW sorry for the extra large photos. I am having issues with photobucket right now. I resize and resize and they stay exactly the same...weird.

Ok we left off at the Best Western in Live Oak, Florida. I had to wake everyone up.


I said GET UP!

We then went to the Free Continental Breakfast, where Teddy Bear had Fruit Loops (which he never gets at home), I had cappuccino and
an apple Danish, and Bird had grits which she put two pounds of butter in and then ate two bites of. Teddy Bear wound up eating her grits
as well.

However, while drinking her hot chocolate, Bird found her first Hidden Mickey! Can you see it?

After breakfast, we hit the road and after a few short hours, we drove under this !!!

Doesn’t it still give you goose bumps!
Well we parked the van and had to take a picture in case we forgot…

Here is Bird and Sugar on the Tram…

First we walked in and just kinda stood around for a bit letting my parents soak it all in. We went over to Town Hall and I got them both
“First Timer” buttons. Then we walked up Main Street.

Paw Paw was ravenous by then so we stopped at Casey’s and had hotdogs and french fries, and “people watched” for a while. I had to tell
the kids to please not feed the birds several times. There was a piano player and we just had that great feeling of being in Disney World.
I wanted to just dive in and run around like a nut, but this was a great way to start the trip.
Listening to the piano player in front of the castle watching the people. Sigh I miss it already.
