In the couple of hundred times I have called CRO, I have always spoken with a CM that knew what they were doing. NOT TODAY.

We were originally scheduled to go 12/25-1/1, had to cancel since I started a new job (with no vacation time). We have decided to go 12/28 (flying after work) until 1/2. (I will have 20 hours saved up)

Back to my point, I had checked online, but decided to call since we just want to send a check in and not use a credit card. I knew several of my choices were available (Poly, Beach Club or Swan). When I called I was told that the only rooms available were at SSR. I asked her again "out of all the Disney resorts this is the only one available" she said "yes". I even asked a third time and told her I had just checked online. She said that was it. I politely hung up and called back.

When I called back I had my choice of Poly, BC, YC, Swan, WL, AKL. Basically anything except value, mod, CR or GF, and they all had standard rooms available (except Poly, which I don't think they even have a standard room)

Are they having a hard time booking SSR, are they trying to push it, or was she just a bone head.

To be honest, I have had almost every WDW vacation screwed up by CRO. My answer wold have to be you got a bone head. I have received mis-information, ADR's that never existed, told room categories were sold out when they were not, given wrong info regarding free dining...you name it.

As long as you have what you want now, that's all that matters! Enjoy your trip.

I have noticed that when you look on the website, SSR is the resort that pops up the most, it seems. I wonder, too, if they're trying to push this one more. I know that it personally does not appeal to me as much as some of the others.

Glad you finally got it worked out, though. Have a very Merry Christmas Vacation!

I think with any customer service department, you have good ones and bad ones....our last Disney trip (our Honeymoon) we got the free dining, but had to call back 4 times to actually get it...each CM we talked to said they weren't offering it. We finally got a CM that said she wasn't sure, but would ask someone else....

I think sometimes if they don't know, they just say NO instead of asking someone.

My brother just got back from SSR. His "issues":
It's too spread out.
It's not Disney themed.
Their view was of construction.
They were far from everything.
They were at the opposite end of the resort from Downtown Disney.
There's nowhere to get a GOOD cup of coffee at Disney, they had to drive to Starbucks at the Premium Outlet Mall every day.
There were too many kids at the pool.
It's a good thing they had a car.

You'd think he'd have checked out at least some of this stuff before he bought into DVC? Anyway, except for the coffee, these could be some of the reasons Disney is pushing SSR for room rentals.

I experienced my first really screwed up call to CRO yesterday afternoon...on hold an extremely long time, told some whacky (wrong) info... Hubby said I should call back that evening and see if we were on the same page...we were not! Thankfully the CM this time was on the ball and I just checked my ressie online and it's perfectly right! Lesson is, if you get a CM who doesn't know what they're doing, end the call and call back!

Just in case anyone reads this and is really concerned about the coffee issue...I am a Starbucks girl all the way..the coffee at Kona cafe in the Polynesian is excellent! As far as SSR, I've stayed there and thought the room was great and the pool was fun, but I was not visiting the parks during that stay...we drove to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk and it was convenient for us.

When I called on the first day of the free dining offer they had NO CLUE what I was talking about. THEN they tried to tell me it was for Florida residents ONLY....it took me over half an hour to get it straight before I even started to book.
