We will be staying at VGC, 2 bedroom (dedicated according to our confirmation letter), for 8 nights at the end of July. We have been to WDW many, many times, but have a few questions for DL. We bought 3 for 5 day park hopper passes, but only plan on using 2 full days in the parks. The other 3 will be used more or less on a whim if we get back to the resort from doing other things, going in for an early morning, etc.

Anyway, I was wondering what we can "see" from the resort. Can we see WOC or fireworks somewhere on the resort property or so we need to go into the parks. We are fine just watching these things from a distance (DH, DSs ages 20 and 22, and myself) a few nights during our stay.

Also, can DSs walk to the Shops at Anaheim alone at night? Is it worth going there? Any other areas they could walk to if they get sick of hanging out with their parents?

Thanks!
Karen

Just got back Saturday,we were in a one bdrm park view, but could not see it directly from room (5514) we went to the obsevation deck and it is a better view but you are still seeing it sideways , to really get the full picture you pretty much need to be in the park and in the blue section, or as close to center as possible. We bought the picnic for this past thusday but on wed we were getting FP for Grizzly River and they still had FP for the WOC 11:15pm show in the blue section so we went to that and it was a good shoe but in my opinion it has been hyped up a bit. It to me was another version of Fantasmic, plused a bit,but no earth shattering new technology. Go see it and see what you think. Some of my opinion may be due to the fact you line up for over an hour then stand for the show, if you have little kids it would be hard for them to see w/o being on someones shoulders, I think they could of planned this out a little better, (seating, crowd control) It is definetly worth seeing, maybe my expectations were just a little too high.

Thanks! This is the type of info I am looking for! I think it will be one of those things that if it works out it does, if not, no tears will be shed!

Maybe not earth shattering but 8 different water nozzles, one said to be patented by Disney because there wasn't one already out there to do what they wanted. The ability to make the water look like glitter moving across the water screens, thinking an effect is just lasers but not seeing the laser points.

Are your sons into Disney Imagineering? For the Disney nerds like my DH, it's a beautiful puzzle. We watched it from the backside and he was just as into it as he was from the front.

Fantasmic and WOC are two very different entertainment shows that both play on water.
