We are planning on making a PS for our Dec trip, I think its 120 days out is that correct? Is it difficult to get a PS. do I have to call in at 7:00am? My dh and I are not big drinkers, nor do we drink wine, is it acceptable to just order a soft drink? And last but not least, I've been reading about the chef's table, should we book that or the main dining room? Any other advice is appreciated.

I would book it ASAP. I don't think I called at 7 a.m., but I do remember wanting to change the date a few days later and it was full. Also, if you decide on the chef's table, definitely do that on the first day you are able. That does fill quickly. We did the main table (although I tried for the chef's table) and enjoyed our experience immensely. I did feel that if we had booked a chef's table that I would be obligated to actually make conversation with the chef and DH and I wanted a quiet evening alone.

It's totally acceptable to drink only soft drinks. You're the one paying right?;) Enjoy!

For a first visit I would book the main dining room. It is so pretty and romantic. If you do decide on the Chef's Table, you can book it 180 days out.

I'm sure that the Chef's Table does fill up quickly, so if you are interested in that, I would call 180 out as previously suggested. However, the main dining room is very pretty, and romantic. I just called the other day to make reservations for 4/27 during the week of Easter. That seems to be a busy time, and I didn't have a problem getting PS's. If you are booking the main dining room, I wouldn't worry about calling at 7 am. And by the way, I don't drink, and I usually order sodas, or just drink the bottled water. They serve the best bottled water there called Vitel! :) My DH will probably get the wine pairing with his meal. Good luck, and enjoy your first V&A experience. ;)

That's exactly how I feel, I really want a romantic, quiet evening so I think we will go with the main dining room. I can't wait.

Thanks!

I went with four friends and we wanted neither romantic nor quiet, so the Chefs Table was perfect. We named the main room the "Stepford Diners," they were so quiet out there. It's a good thing we weren't eating out there, because we would have driven the Stepford Diners crazy with wine-pairing-inspired giggle fits.

Book ASAP if you know you want to go. I don't think 7 AM is necessary unless you want the Chefs Table or it happens to be Valentines Day or some such thing.

I'll just echo what everyone has said--the main dining room should be perfect for you.
Note that WDW-DINE will NOT be able to make V&A reservations for you. You'll be transferred to "group" or "banquet" dining, where the reservation will be made. They'll need names, etc and a credit card as a hold for the reservation.
If you want to save time, the direct # is 407-939-7707 (at least that was the # in Oct. of last year)

No. My husband and I had our anniversary dinner there a year ago in January and had the table to ourselves. It was great and it's not as if you have to talk to the chef all the time. He shares a toast with you and talks to you about any likes or dislikes before the meal begins. When we were finished with dinner he popped by again. I don't think we talked with him other than that. He is busy making the delightful dishes for everyone else too.:D

You can talk to the various sous chefs that are working nearby as much or little as you want. They volunteer some info and answer questions. I suspect they take their cues from the guests as too how much interaction is desired.

For us it was a romantic dinner but the setting is not nearly as pretty or elegant as the main dining room.

We've done both, and I prefer the main dining room when it is just the two of us. But when we were with my bil & sil the chef's table was great. Enjoy.
