Don't hesitate to split up. I like Dumbo, Peter Pan, Tea Cups & Astro Orbiter..my DH likes Splash Mountain, Big Thunder and the Jungle Cruise. When the rope drops at the Magic Kingdom, we always split up and meet back at an agreed upon time and place. Even though we're in our 50s..we are like little kids.
Rent a car. We have gotten to the point that this is a necessity for us.
Try at least one new thing each trip. My favorite new thing this trip was sharing a gigantic rice krispie treat from the Kusafari bakery at Tusker House. We took the walk way to Epcot from MGM. Very quiet and relaxing.
Last trip it was checking out the Wide World of Sports.
Make advance reservations for meals but be flexible and open to change. Often we will change our minds and I will call and cancel a table service reservation and opt for counter service. Sometimes we will switch a table service meal to another place. This trip we were having trouble getting to the clubs at Pleasure Island so I switched a reservation at Marrakesh to the Portobello Yacht Club. The food was our best meal and we got to both the comedy club and Adventurer's Club after. Later that week, we walked over and caught the Mo-Rockin show, so even though we didn't make the restaurant, we got to see the show.
Always rest. For me, it's not necessary to sleep. I'm not a napper but I always rest. This trip I just sat by the pool or relaxed in the spa or we went to the water parks and I sat by the water and read a book. The quiet time--if only for an hour or two--is well worth it. On hot days, it really helps to cool off, soak the feet and avoid heat exhaustion
