Hi,
As you may know i'm off again to DLP on the 20th-25th November and was wondering....

-How was the weather last year for this time, we went the 7th-12th Nov last year and it rained everyday. I know it may not be the same this year but I can't remember when the snow kicked in.

- How busy was it. I have checked blackout dates and there is none for this period so i'm hoping this may mean they are not expecting it to be too bad. It was lovely and queit last year until the 10th/11th as it was Armistice day and it was :scared1: busy on the last 2 days of our trip.

- We are staying at the DLH and just wondered how much of the hotel was decorated, we stayed at the Cheyenne last year and the bar and reception was decorated lovely and had garlands all over. If anybody has any pictures of the dlh decorated I would love to see them :rolleyes1

I know this is going to sound very sad but i have not been to dlp with out my mum in 6 years as we are both huge DLP fans and both get so excited about going but she is not coming on this trip (i'm a 30 year old woman who has been going with her mum for 6 years :rotfl2:) This trip is with DH who will get excited on the way to the Eurostar, ds who is 2 and does not get it....yet, MIL who does not get excited about much and DD who does not even know about the trip, it's a surprise (but if she knew i know she would get excited) So i'm all alone in the planning department which is strange to me so I may be boring you guys with all my planning and excitement :lmao:

Aaaaah Kaz, we'll get excited with ya!!
Cant be of any help otherwise... I hope it doesnt rain the 7th - 10th this year :rolleyes1 or Im gona be one peed off Mammy :rotfl: Snow would just be a nightmare.
Ireland got bad snow end Nov, Dec and Jan but as for France I cant remember. Jan seems to be the most bitterly cold time to go so fingers crossed Nov will be mild and as we say here 'soft'!!

We went 25th/26th last year and stayed in Cheyenne, we had one day of bright sunshine and one day of drizzle, but the week after it snowed. We visited the DLH and it was very festive, lots of decorations and Christmas tree in lobby, there were also lovely decorations in the shop that we didn't see elsewhere. As it was the weekend it was very busy, but I think you should be fine during the week.:surfweb:

The DLH is beautifully decorated, the main lobby had a huge tree and the fireplace is gigantic and looks like it's straight out of a fairy tale book! There are garlands all over the top of the stairs and it looks truely beautiful. I loved it!! :)

We went 18th - 21st last year and the weather wasn't pleasant at all.

Day 1 we were travelling http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2605981

Day 2 - grey low cloud damp and cold http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2625654

Day 3 - Brighter but still chilly if you were out of the sun - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2625692

Day 4 - the most miserable day I have had at Disney - cold, wet, windy - which made it even colder. Not painting a very nice picture am I! (oh crikey it must be really emblazoned on my brain as I have just looked at my trip report for that day and I wrote nearly exactly the same thing!) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2626327

but saying all that we went at a similar time in 2008 and it was very mild - rained on our last day but wasn't cold - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2020137

I would love to go for Xmas season again but only if I was getting decent weather last year really put me off and I actually called Ezyshuttle to come and get us earlier than arranged.

Crowds were manic on the Saturday and part of the Sunday - they seemed to die off in the early evening on Sunday probably coz it was so wet - we managed to do Slinky Dog as a walk on 5 times before we left. We got no EMH on the Friday which I think was 19th and the Sat and Sunday only had 1 hour of EMH from 8am to 9am but I think the Studios were open for EMH. (would have to go and look for my park programme to check that).

Lets hope the weather is not bad two years running!

Thank you so much everybody.

I am off to read your TR emanlu :surfweb:.

The weather was terrible last year 7th-12th Nov we had hard heavy rain everyday and practically all day :sad2: and was very cold, so glad we all had snow coats, hats, scarfs and gloves etc. I think i may plan for it to be colder and hopefully be pleasently surprised (fingers crossed). If the weather is bad at least we won't have too far to go back to the hotel.

I am really looking forward to seeing the DLH decorated :cloud9:

I can't help with the weather, but just thought I'd add that I've seen pictures of DLH at Christmas and it looks stunning :goodvibes

I think there may be some in tr pages.

Also - don't worry about planning - I don't have anyone to plan with either, which is why I'm going into meltdown with only 5 days until our holiday ;)

I do all the organising, money, booking, travel, packing - the others just do what they're told :lmao:

It always works out in the end, but I have a constant migraine for a couple of days before we leave - every single holiday - it's good to come on here and ask seemingly pointless questions - everyone understands on here :disrocks:

We first got snow on the 27th/28th of November last year and of course it got cold earlier as we had to put the heating on from then on :sad2:

Thanks guys :thumbsup2

Lets hope the weather holds off this year :worship:

Thanks Ms Poppins it's nice to know i can still share my planning. And love the part about they will do as they are told :rotfl2: This year i have got to pack for myself, DH,DD and DS aswell as MIL as she is disabled and can't lift she also is in first stages of dementia and will probably forget to pack half the stuff. (she tries to laugh about it bless her) We were discussing getting her a snow coat and i got rather excited explaining disney at christmas but she did not see my enthusiasm (even talking about a coat sets my excitement off :rotfl2:)
