Hi,
Planning my trip for Dec. 2004, it'll be me and my sister, we're both in our twenties. Finally decided where we wanted to stay, the Wilderness Lodge, now deciding on resturants, I know I still have time before I make PS's, but wanted to be prepared. So I just have a few questions about some of the restaurants.

1. Will we feel out of place at a character meal? Is it more families with kids? We want to maybe try LTT or Chef Mickey's.

2. I want to try the 50's primetime. Do they pressure you to play along? I'm shy, so not really into that.

3. Is the Whispering Canyon Cafe a popular restaurant that you will need PS's? Just that if we wake up on a non-park day and want to go there, not have a long wait or better to make a PS and cancel when we get there.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Not at all, I am 22 and I haven't ever felt out of place. The characters don't care and will give you just as much attention as everyone else. At WDW, everyone becomes a kid. If you like Pooh & Friends, I recommend Crystal Palace at MK.

They are a little pressuring. I am shy too and I was worried about that before the first time I went. Not all of them are "mean" mom's however, so just funny and sweet. I've been there several times now and it's a lot of fun even if you are shy.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is pretty popular so I would make a PS at least the morning of the day you plan to go. If not, you could be stuck exploring Wildeness Lodge for a while, which I can't say is a bad thing! :)

Hope this all helps!

Go to a character meal - you won't regret it;) DH and I are in our twenties, and we have a blast at the character meals - the characters are so much fun:D There aren't just families there either, so I don't think you'll feel out of place that way. It's also fun to watch the characters interact with the little ones. We've been to Chef Mickey's and loved that, but haven't tried LTT.

I've only been to 50's Primetime once - it was DH and I, my parents, aunt and uncle, before our wedding. My mom and I are very shy, while my aunt, uncle, DH, and dad are more outgoing. Our server went along with everyone's personalities and my mom and I didn't feel like sinking into the floor from embarrassment. The goal is to have a good time, so I'm sure that if your server can tell you're *not* having a good time, they'll lighten up so that you'll enjoy yourself:D

We've never been to Whispering Canyon, so can't help you there... although having a PS never hurts... If you have the budget for it, try Artist Point - you're right there anyway, and the food is very good - we've enjoyed it everytime we've gone. HTH:D

I agree, if you have the money go to Artist Point. It's more upscale and it's a separate dining room and decor from the lodge. I ate there with my family on Christmas Eve of 2001, and it was surreal. Go at night and try a dish you wouldn't normally try.

Hi,
Thanks for all the quick replies. Gave me something to thing about. Now just have to wait until to December to go. :D

Thanks again.

One quick note smt218....you were concerned about 50's Prime Time and not wanting to play along. I strongly suggest you stay away from Whispering Canyon Cafe if you're the shy type....they are much more "in your face" with their playful banterings. (All innocent, good fun...but a little noisy!)
Artist Point is a wonderful place and you get all the terrific atmosphere of Wilderness Lodge lobby.
Enjoy yourself! (We'll be there in November. Never too early to plan, right?!)
