A few quick questions this time....

1) Is there a booking fee for each time you make a reservation? I heard something about $75-95, and although that wouldn't add up to a lot on a week long vacation, it would sure make a difference for a 1-night stay at the DLH.

2) If we purchase AKV now, will we still have the 11-month reservation time for the Kidani Village? In other words with AKV as our home resort will Kidani be included in that?

3) Will there be concierge in the AKV or is that only in the hotel?

4) Will there be kitchens at AKV studios?

5) Do you need all of your points available at the time you make your reservations? We're planning on using our 2009 pts for 2008, however we want to book for 2010 in which we will use our 2011 pts. So technically I will book for 2010 in 2009, but my 2011 pts won't be available to me yet.

6) Is there a chance the points will go up each year? For example I was told that it is 160 pts to stay a week at AKV, but could that go up to 200+ pts as the years go by?

7) I'm assuming you can pay the MFs in one payment, correct? Can we pay the $740 up front?

Thanks so much!

There is no fee for booking at a DVC resort. I don't think there is a fee for using points to book at a Disney hotel. There is a fee if you trade out but I'll let someone who is more familiar with that answer this for you.

2) If we purchase AKV now, will we still have the 11-month reservation time for the Kidani Village? In other words with AKV as our home resort will Kidani be included in that?
Kidani Village is part of AKV so if you purchase points at AKV, you can book at either Jambo House or Kidani Village 11 months out.

3) Will there be concierge in the AKV or is that only in the hotel?
There will be a small number of concierge rooms in Jambo House, but none in Kidani Village.

4) Will there be kitchens at AKV studios?
There are kitchenettes in the AKV studios with a microwave, toaster, small sink and a small under counter refrigerator. There are real mugs and glasses but paper plates and plastic ware.

5) Do you need all of your points available at the time you make your reservations? We're planning on using our 2009 pts for 2008, however we want to book for 2010 in which we will use our 2011 pts. So technically I will book for 2010 in 2009, but my 2011 pts won't be available to me yet.
You need to have enough points available in the same UY as your reservation dates. So if you are in your 2009 UY and want to book a stay that will occur in your 2010 UY, you can used banked 2009UY points, 2010UY points and if needed, you can borrow 2011UY points for that stay. You can book 11 months out from your check-out date at your home resort, 7 months out at any non-home resort.

6) Is there a chance the points will go up each year? For example I was told that it is 160 pts to stay a week at AKV, but could that go up to 200+ pts as the years go by?
DVC has adjusted the point charts on a couple of occasions, but if they raise the points needed during certain dates, they have to lower the points needed for other dates.

7) I'm assuming you can pay the MFs in one payment, correct? Can we pay the $740 up front?
Yes, you can pay the MFs in one payment by check or credit card each January or you can spread the payments out over the following 12 months via direct debit at no extra charge.

1--there is no charge for booking DVC rooms
there is a $75 for the Disney Collection and World Passport
there is a $95 for the Concierge & Adventurers Collections

6-- points can not go up or down OVERALL at a resort. They can be rearranged so that certain room categories go up or down or certain seasons go up or down, but whatever goes up must come down by the same amount somewhere else

so generally not much change
