Ok, so after having a DL trip meeting today with my sister, niece and aunt (who will be joining me on our trip in Sept.), we now have a few questions that we need answered. I have searched and searched and have come up with a few answers, but not all...so here it goes...

1. We would like to make a PS for Carnation Cafe for dinner. I had heard that CC has outdoor seating and would like to possibly watch the parade during dinner?? For the life of me, I can't remember about what time the parade is, anyone know around what time the parade starts? Also, is it possible to view the parade from this restaurant?

2. If my memory serves me correctly, fireworks are around 9:15-9:25?? We are going to attempt to ride BTMRR during the fireworks, as we have never done that before. Do I have the fireworks time correct?

3. I am assuming that we will be missing HM and SM due to the Halloween overlays (we will be there 9/10-9/15)?:confused3

1. The street side tables at Carnation Cafe would allow you to glimps the parade, but a lot of possibility to have your view blocked as people walk by and stop and watch.

2. Fireworks are scheduled at 9:25, but often times are delayed. You might be able to time it though.

3. Don't know this.

My teens aren't into parades but DH & I wanted to see it so we got a PS for the parade time. We were able to see most of the parade just fine.

There are cast members that don't allow people to stop in front of the restaurant to view the parade.

Thank you both for your replies, I appreciate your help!

Anyone know an approximate date of when SM & HM might close? I am hoping we can possibly hit it on our first day :confused3

Much quicker to find this information on Disneyland.com then a fan website. Customized park hours and entertainment schedules, tailored to your visiting dates can be found there.

www.disneyland.com

Currently none of the information that you want is on the site, with the exception of currently planned attraction refurbishments (which can change) for that time period... which means that none of the other information has been released to the public yet. Once it's out, the Disneyland web page is the first to release it officially, not a fansite.

It doesn't look like the dates for the Haunted Mansion refurbishment, to set up the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay has been set yet based on a few searches of dates. MousePlanet does list the Haunted Mansion refurbishment as September 10th through the 24th as well as it lists Space Mountain as September 8th through the 24th (it is also getting the Halloween treatment as "Ghost Galaxy"), but these dates are not official until it shows up on www.disneyland.com.

As for Carnation Cafe and "Celebrate!", there will still be people walking by the restaurant and might block your view of the street party (it's not a parade). Again, entertainment schedules have not been released to the public yet.

Thanks for the info, yeah I've been checking the info on disneyland.com entertainment schedule often, waiting until they update it to our dates. I just thought maybe someone that went last year may have a good idea of when they start the overlay.

I have not been since they started the Street Party...I thought they had a parade around dinner time? Am I thinking of something else?? I know it's not the EP, obviously that's after dark in DCA...

Maybe you're thinking of the Pixar parade in DCA? It's around dinner time (sorry, don't remember the exact time) and if you time it right you can sit on the patio at Wine Country Trattoria to watch.

Maybe that is what I'm thinking of:confused3 Maybe I am crazy or dilusional :) I remember watching some type of parade on the stairs of the Main Street train station....

I'll second Matterhorn during the fireworks but we'll ahve to try BTMMR on our next trip I think. Could it have been POD you watched since the street party is fairly new?

"Parade of Dreams" ?? If so, I think that was it...near the end was a huge gold/ white float with Minnie and Mickey on the balcony?? It must be discontinued, does that sound right?

yeah, okay......

That same site that never mentioned that Astro Orbiter was drastically, absolutely, completely down for refurbishment, for instance? That site?

OP, CMs do make heavy attempts to keep traffic moving, but there's not an unbroken line of them along the way, and people DO try to stop. Plus, the people watching parades from inside the rope (that's how they separate the walkway from the viewing area) tend to stand, especially for Celebrate.
