Hello!
I know this has been asked lots and lots, but my search is not working, so please bear with me!
I closed on a SSR resale about 6 weeks ago and have received my deeds, new members pack etc... however I'm yet to get our membership cards.
Does anyone know how long this takes and if I should have received them yet? I was going to call member services today but I didn't realise they were closed. oops!
Also I got an email from Disney giving me a password for the dvc website and that said the membership cards and pin should follow shortly. That was about 5 weeks ago.
BTW, the email was sent to me by the guide who did the tour for us when we were there in June, does that mean he is our permenant guide? or is that just a coincidence? as we did end up buying resale.
Finally, if you borrow points to book your holiday and then cancel, what happens to those borrowed points? (hopefully this should never be a problem, but I was just curious  )
Thanks in advance for your help!::goodvibes

Welcome to the DIS DVC Boards! ... and Welcome Home! :)

Membership cards often take several weeks to arrive although you may expect to get temporary cards in the meantime.

The guide who originally worked with you is your guide of record and you will periodically get information with his/her name on it.

Member Services is open most Saturdays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. I believe they were open today too.

With any reservation, any points from a cancelled reservation will just be returned to your account. If cancelled 31 or more days ahead of arrival they may still be banked or used for another reservation - based on normal banking policy. If camcelled within 30 days of arrival, they are then in the "Holding Account" and may only be used to make a reservation 60 days prior to arrival - and they will expire at the end of your current Use Year.

If cancelled the day of arrival, the points (and reservation) are used and are not returned to your account.

Enjoy! :)

We were given temporary membership cards by our guide the day we signed our papers and he e-mailed my husband his pin number the day after.

If you bought from a Disney reseller, broker, you can make reservations as soon as the account is open. Call member services after you know the paperwork has gone through and you will be able to reserve space without having a physical card in your hands. Talk to your broker he/she should have your member number.
