A few questions...

1. decided we should get a towncar and do a grocery stop instead of order groceries.

Do we need to cancel DME? We know not to use the yellow bag tags, but we definitely want to get our checked luggage ourselves.

2. We are flying on Airtran and I am going to pay the extra to get assigned seats for the return trip to ensure we sit together.
Do we still need to check in online before we get to the airport? I know I can go to the hotel guest services, but I don't want to mess with it on vacation if I don't need to.

Well, you don't need to cancel DME ... nothing bad will happen to you if you're a no-show. It just seems like the decent thing to do, though.

And you're absolutely right, keep those DME luggage tags OFF your bags, since you want to make sure you claim them yourselves at baggage claim.
