A few questions regarding my upcoming trip.

Hello everyone,! i’m still very excited about my upcoming trip! For a while I thought we would have to cancel the trip despite being for the residence as I have cerebral palsy and in a wheelchair. I’ve been fully vaccinated and I just had my booster about three weeks ago.

does security check vaccination cards before you enter? I know they probably don’t but I just wanted to ask.

I knew that there are no character meet & greets and no character dining. I am a pretty big Eeyore fan! I knew that the Winnie the Pooh characters are outside crystal palace waving to guests as they walk by. I’m sure this is incorrect but I heard that people were being able to take socially distance pictures with the characters. Aren’t the characters on the balcony of the restaurant and all of the guests are on the ground? I’m just kind of confused and wondering how that would work. LOL

What’s the situation with Be Our Guest?

also we will be staying at the contemporary resort. I have not been able to get a reservation for any other restaurants there. are they closed? Does anyone know when they might reopen?

also, I am a Florida resident and hoping that the deals come out soon for the hotels in October. I am a bit concerned as they usually always come out before September. Has anyone heard anything on whether or not they’re going to have special rates available? Right now we have a rack room price and we understand if we may have to pay that or possibly move to a different resort.

Thank you!
.

Disney doesn’t check for vaccinations.

There are a few character meals, though the characters don’t come up to the tables. There also are cavalcades spontaneously in the park.

The Wave is closed, to be replaced by Steakhouse 71.

I would not anticipate any October resort deals, given that MK’s 50th anniversary is October 1. It’s going to be busy at WDW!

1, No they don't check vaccination cards as vaccination status is not required to enter the park.

2. There is character dining happening, but currently no Winnie the Pooh character dining. You will sometimes see the Pooh characters in cavalcades or on top of the train station. Some people have seen them outside Crystal Palace, but I think that has mostly been at Boo Bash.

3. It is currently Pre Fixe for all 3 meals and no breakfast. Beast makes a quick appearance.

4. All restaurants in the Contemporary are open except the Wave. Restaurants book up early though.

5. I haven't heard anything about special rates coming out in the near future (and I'm a TA so I usually hear these things pretty quickly).

thank you both so very much you’ve been incredibly helpful! Can I find out more information about steakhouse 71?Are there menus available yet? I had no idea about the Wave closing so I am bummed. I heard California Grill will serve breakfast? How about Chef Mickey’s? How is the food there? I never have eaten there before.

yes, I was referring to the Boo Bash as we will be going on 10/26. as far as the Winnie the Pooh characters outside crystal palace, I saw some thing where someone said they could take a socially distance photo with a character but how can that be? Aren’t the characters in costume on the balcony by the restaurant or are they on the ground where you can stand 6 feet away and maybe hold your phone awkwardly LOL to get a photo. Hope that makes sense. I’m just trying to understand.

When they reopened Crystal Palace I think they stopped doing the distanced appearance of characters on the porch, because they need that space for restaurant guests. I ate the Wave breakfast in the California Grill space last week. Not sure when the new Wave/ Steakhouse 71 will open, but if its not for your trip you may be able to do that. Chef Mickey's is probably all booked up at this point, but you can keep checking. Contempo is open. Good luck and have fun!

Wow you answered all my questions! I edited my post before i saw your reply and you answered them plus a few more Thank you!

If you are going after Oct 1st there will be no California Grill reservations (as of now). They are supposed to be reopening as a special dinning experience for the 50th, but as far as I know nothing further has been released.

Ok, so how do you interact with the Pooh and friends characters during Boo Bash? Are they on one of the mini parades?

All the characters are spaced away from guests behind fences (Pooh, Haunted Mansion) or elevated (Chip and Dale). There's no personal pictures standing with the characters. You can take selfies or have someone take a picture of you with the characters in the background. Pooh and friends stand behind the fence at Tony's.

Ok thank you very much!! You said Pooh is at Haunted Mansion and Pooh and the gang are at Tony’s? Just a bit confused at why is Pooh at different places lol

I will be the 10/26-10/28. Should I just keep checking California’s Grill’s website or will an announcement be made?

Hi. Sorry for the confusion. Pooh and friends are at Tony's on Main Street just under the patio which is separated by a low fence. The Haunted Mansion has two ghosts that perform outside the mansion behind the fences. They are very enjoyable. The lady reminded me of my SIL who loves to ham it up outside her house on Halloween night for all the Trick-or-Treaters. Don't forget to check out the Cadaver Dans who perform near Country Bear Jamboree.
