Hey everybody, we set the date for our wedding and we're looking at November 9, 2007..We just have a few questions on how to go about
getting started with the disney wedding plans. How soon can we call to book the wedding to see if the date is even available & what is the phone number that we call?
Another question we have is at what point do we have to give a deposit and how much of a deposit does disney require? Also, after the planning starts how do the payments work.. is it all due the day of the wedding? Sorry we're new to this whole getting married thing ;) lol.
Your help and information would be greatly appreciated, we'd like to know as much as possible before getting started.
Thanks Again,
Chris & Kimberly

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Have you gone to disneyweddings.com That site will really help you. You can call 321-939-4610. You should be able to speak w/ a sales manager now to see if your date is available. I am not sure about all the deposits, but I am pretty sure you do $1000 deposit when you sign the contract (usually 8 mos. before). Hope that helps, good luck :)

Congratulations on setting your date!

We are planning on Nov. 2, 2007 and when I called last month DFTW said a sales manager would get back to me in 2 or 3 days. I said fine and was very pleasantly surprised to get a call the next morning. My SM is great - she answered all of my questions and gave me some great ideas. She was also able to tell me that right now my date looks pretty good, and since I want to get married in the Italy courtyard, I will be able to book one year in advance instead of 8 months.

DF and I just made an appointment to visit Francks and do a site visit so we can make up our minds about a location for the reception (we're thinking Yacht Club but not sure yet) the 1st of September.

In my confirmation I received by email, there was a line about the initial deposit being $1500. I was figuring either rates have gone up a little, or maybe because I am looking at a custom on a Friday ($15000 minimum) it's a little higher. It was one of the questions I was planning on asking at the site visit actually. Anyone here know? It did say the balance is due 30 days before the wedding, and my SM had said if we wanted to make payments as we go along rather than one lump sum at the end to let them know as they draw up the contract and they'll work it out for us.

I definitely think you should create a wishbook if you haven't done so already on the disney weddings website, and then call and talk to an SM. It's been extremely helpful to us so far! And so has this board!
