We are visiting Disney in May and staying at the YC.
Have they posted the May hours for the parks yet?
Where can I get a "countdown till my vacation timer" I see on many posts here on this board.
My DS is 4, do you think he would like the Thunder Mountain Railroad? Or would it be too rough?
This will be our second trip and we are staying for a week, and plan to purchase AP's and return before 365 days run out. Should I order the AP's right before we leave and pick them up on site or have them sent to me?
Is there any spot in Epcot that is really great for younger children?
Sorry so many questions, but you guys seem to have lots of wonderful answers!!! TYIA;)

Hello thymed! I am going in May. My DD and I are visiting DH who's stationed in Florida. It's her first time, but we'll only be there for 2 days.

Anyways, as far as I know and have heard from others on this board, the May hours are not up yet but are supposed to be up by the end of the month. But they are subject to change from day to day even when they do get posted. Some people are planning according to last year's May hours, but due to the situation in Iraq now they probably won't be exactly the same. So keep that in mind.

The countdown, I'm not very sure about but I think I saw it on the homepage or the forums homepage where you can fill it out.

Also, not sure about this, but I think there is a height requirement for Thunder Mountain RR. If I remember correctly it's not really a rough ride, and I think your DS would enjoy it.

As for the AP's it depends on your preference. If you don't want to worry about them being lost before you go to WDW you might just want to pick them up on site. But if you feel better having them with you, get them mailed to you. If you do choose to pick them up on site, call in advance to confirm and make sure they'll be ready for you no problem.

And finally for Epcot, in my opinion and experience there are a lot of things there that would keep young children busy. And you just can't miss Illuminations, your DS would love that! It would be an enjoyable experience for the whole family. Plus they have Kidcot activities there, so that would definitely keep your 4 year old busy in the WS.

Happy trip planning! have a good one!

The counter is available in the Technical Support forum on the home page.

Enjoy!

One place to visit that is nice is the Innoventions East and West
They have fun computer games set up for children and it is just fun to explore.:D

If these are your first APs, I would not try to preorder at all, just get them at the Guest Services window outside any park. They will need to enter info into their computer system (name, address, etc) even if you have a pre-paid voucher, so it will not reduce your wait time. Have a driver's license handy. Also, expect a short delay the first time you use them in a turnstile - the finger scanners will need to save your specs.

My 4.5 y.o ds loved Big Thunder Mountain! We were pleasantly surprised.

Epcot for kids:

Food Rocks
Journey into your Imagination/ Image Works lab
Innoventions - there are computer games for preschoolers

World Showcase - do the kidcot stations, have your little one decorate a mask. My kids loved it! I just asked if they wanted to do arts & crafts and they looked forward to it. They really enjoyed it.

train village in Germany
Viking ship playground in Norway
there are character appearances at several of the countries - Englad, France & Morocco I believe.
