I have a couple questions before we go on our 2nd Annual December 3-Generations DLR trip.

1. We're probably staying at Worldmark Anaheim. Has anyone stayed there? Is the proximity to Gardenwalk nice?

2. It's also the first time in like 5 years that we will be using ART. For anyone who's stayed around there, how's the service there? Was it easy to catch the shuttles both directions? Did it take long to get to the parks in the morning? Are the shuttles crowded?

3. How crowded does A Bug's Land get? I haven't been in a long time and this could be the first time that my little cousins visit DCA, so this land will be great for them. I'm just wondering where it fits into the touring plan.

4. How far in advance do you have to get decent seats for the Pixar Play Parade? I've never actually seen it because our family isn't all into parades, but last year the cousins LOVED the Christmas parade. Plus they love "the Cars movie", so I'm thinking PPP would be really fun for them.

5. Is there still that Cars meet and greet over by Soarin? This would make my little cousins' day.

That's it for now. I might come up with some more. Thanks in advance. :thumbsup2

Regarding question 1:

Worldmark is located basically at the end of Gardenwalk. You can very easily walk from Worldmark to GardenWalk for meals or whatnot.

P.S. If you have enough points to get the Presidential Suite - go for it. You'll love it!

1. Don't know.
2. Don't know.
3. I have never seen it too crowded. It is almost always empty or just a few minutes wait at most. One trip we hung out there quite a lot at different times of the day, and it never really changed, except the water play spots on hot days get more crowded. Unlikely to happen in December though!
4. We have watched this a few times. Saved seats once on a bench across from Disney Playhouse and right where they come out at the begining. That was about 30 minutes, but really not necessary. I have walked up and found a place to watch pretty easily right as it is going by.
(For the Electrical Parade, we wait for about an hour, usually in Sunshine Plaza)
5. Yes, lighning mcqueen is still across from Soarin'. Just had a picture with him in October. Not sure if Mater is still there??

I'm sure you will all have a wonderful time!

Haven't stayed at WorldMark so not sure exactly where it is but we stayed at the super 8 on Katella which is right next door to the GardenWalk and we had no problem walking to DLR and back. We had 2 kids in strollers, a 9 yo, a 13 yo, several 30-somethings and a 60-something and no one had trouble with the walk.

We've been to Bug's Land when it's been crowded. I can't remember the specifics about what day or time it was though. I don't like waiting very long for those rides. We just went last wednesday (veteren's day so a bit more crowded than usual) and we went to Bug's land around 10:30 or 11 and we walked on to every ride.

We haven't watched the Pixar Play Parade but were walking towards the exit about an hour before the parade started (on Veteren's day again) and people were already getting their seats. The benches and were getting filled up but there was still room to sit on the street.

Both Lightning McQueen and Mater were out last Wednesday.

I traveled via ART last year, and it was easy, fast and no problem. I was very pleased with the good, nice, helpful and friendly service.

Multi-day passes are available at a good savings. And At your hotel, there is an Art Kiosk.

art passes

You would ride Route #8.

"The ticket kiosks have ART's identifiable branding and are conveniently located for visibility.

The kiosks accept cash and three types credit cards: American Express, VISA and Master Card. The kiosks DO NOT make change."

Mater and Lightning McQueen were both there mid Oct. We got pictures with them!

I haven't seen Bugs Land too crowded hardly ever. Once it was a bit longer, maybe that was late afternoon? Usually not too bad.

I'm pretty sure Mater and McQ were out at Halloween when we went.

I have never seen Bugs land crowded. We have been there (April, June,July, aug,October) with DGD1 and the longest I ever waited for anything was 5 minutes for heimlichs (sp?) chewchew train. The water play areas were the most occupied in August of anything we saw. I just don't think there is a lot to do there to hold a crowd. I know I am bored lol....
hth :goodvibes

We always grab a bench right by Bugs land before the parade. My Mom will hold down the fort and I will take the girls over to Bug's Land to ride. We usually get there an hour early for bench, but you can really walk right up at the last minute and get a good view from what I've noticed. It is such a cute parade and Mater and Lightning are in the parade too.
