First if you buy a vacation package thru universal are your theme park tickets attached to you room key like they are at Disney or will I be carrying around a room key and park tickets?
Second (assuming the answer to the first question is yes) if I buy my theme park tickets separately from my hotel can I have my theme park tickets added to my key?
We will be staying on property at the hard rock hotel if that makes any difference

Buying tickets and room separately is usually cheaper plus you don't have the penalties associated with packages.

Your park tickets are not connected in any way to your room keys nor can they be added. You will have to carry around room keys and tickets plus your Express Pass.

Universal does not own the onsite resorts so the same things you're used to at Disney do not apply. Disney owns their resorts and can combine everything...Universal can't.
